Dr. Ammar Salti
Consultant Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine
Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC)

Dr. Salti is a practicing Consultant Anesthesiologist at Sheikh Khalifa Medical city in Abu Dhabi since 2015. Dr Salti graduated from Rene Descartes university- Paris-FRANCE and his fellowship of anesthesia and intensive care at Bichat hospital – Paris- FRANCE. He is French board certified in both Anesthesia and Pain Medicine. He also obtained the European diploma of Regional anesthesia and pain medicine organized by the European Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ESRA). Dr Salti is an active member of the European society of anesthesia (ESA), the European society of regional anesthesia (ESRA) and the Pan Arab society of anesthesia, Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine. Dr. Salti is a frequent national and international speaker and has received many professional and academic awards . He is the chairman of NYSORA Middle East and member of the scientific committee of the NWAC and Member of the Pain Committee of WFSA.

 
DR. ABDELRAHMAN NIMERI
Director of Bariatric & Metabolic Institute
Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi, UAE

Dr Nimeri is currently the Head of Division of General, Thoracic, & Vascular Surgery, Director of Bariatric & Metabolic Institute (BMI) Abu Dhabi, and Surgeon Champion of ACS NSQIP at SKMC. He is an adjunct staff at the Cleveland Clinic’s Endocrine and Metabolic Institute in Cleveland Ohio, and adjunct Associate Professor of Surgery at the UAE University college of Medicine. Dr Nimeri joined SKMC as a consultant surgeon in May 2009. Prior to that he was an Assistant Clinical Professor at University of California San Francisco. He finished his general surgery residency training at Huron hospital Cleveland Clinic Health System in Cleveland Ohio in 2004. Dr Nimeri did his fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis Missouri in 2005. He has been in practice at the University of California San Francisco-Fresno starting in 2005. At UCSF Fresno he was on faculty at the general surgery residency program, and was one of three faculty of the Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship program at UCSF Fresno. Dr Nimeri has interests in Minimally Invasive Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, Surgical Education and Surgical Quality.
 
Dr. Ahmed M R Abdel-Aziz M.B.B.Ch, M.Sc, FRCA
Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist & Paediatric Intensivist / Chief of Paediatric Anaesthesia

Dr Ahmed Abdel-Aziz MSc, MD, FRCA is the course director for 3 ultrasound courses accredited by The Royal College of Anaesthesia, UK. Also, he is one of the core developers of the MSc in Regional Anaesthesia, East Anglia University, examiner for the MSc RA, senior lecturer at East Anglia University, Royal College of Anaesthesia representative for consultant appointments and Educational Coordinator for the North East Society for Regional Anaesthesia, UK.

Dr Abdel-Aziz completed his specialised training with the Mersey School of Anaesthesia where he did further training in paediatric anaesthesia and paediatric intensive care. Since 2006 he has been working as a consultant paediatric anaesthesia and paediatric intensivist at The James Cook University Hospital until 2015 where he moved to the UAE to take on the role of chief of Paediatric Anaesthesia at Tawam Hospital. His area of interest is paediatric emergencies and his passion is ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia and teaching. He has many publications and has given numerous international and domestic lectures

 
Dr. Pierrot Sarkis
Consultant Pediatric Surgery
Oasis Hospital Al Ain

Graduated on 1985 as MD from Saint Joseph University in Beirut Lebanon, he completed after 6 years of surgery and pediatric surgery in Lebanon and France. He graduated as pediatric surgeon from Catholic University of Lille, Faculty of Medicine in 1992. He started his mission in pediatric surgery in Lebanon in Saint Georges University hospital and started many units of pediatric surgery in Lebanon performing correction of digestive and urinary diseases. In 2005, He joined Saad Specialist Hospital in Alkhobar, Saudi Arabia, where he was section head of pediatric surgery performing all types of surgeries. Since February 2016, he is occupying the position of consultant pediatric surgeon in Oasis Hospital and Head of Department of surgery.

He completed post graduate studies in biostatistics applied to healthcare and founded Evidence Based Medicine and Research center in Saad Specialist Hospital in Alkhobar. He was certified in 2015 as surveyor from AHIQ and had a large experience in quality control, procedures in healthcare and  in international accreditations and implementation of Physician Performance Evaluation. He is occupying now the position of Chief Quality Officer in Oasis Hospital Alain-Abu Dhabi.

 
Dr. Piyush Mallick
Consultant in Anesthesia & Intensive care
Al Zahra Hospital

Dr. Piyush was in Operation Theater Management and ICU management as Head of Unit and first to implement (Therapeutic Hypothermia) in the state of Kuwait starting 2008. He was also a Consultant for Ultrasound guided nerve blocks for fellow & trainee (KIMS), and an instructor of various international Ultrasound Regional Anesthesia conference and workshops. He was also a guest speaker in international conference for anesthesia and critical care.

Dr. Piyush completed several courses and trainings including ATLS/BLS/ACLS provider USMLE. He has expertise in Severe Sepsis & Septic Shock, Trauma, Severe Respiratory diseases, Emergency Cardiology, Therapeutic Hypothermia for post arrest patient. He has a special interest in microbiology and antibiotics, and acute pain services. He is also an expert in quantitative ABG for ICU.

 
Dr. Rabiah Noueihed
Consultant Anesthesiologist
Oasis Hospital, Al Ain

Dr. Rabiah graduated from the American University of Beirut, she is practicing in the UAE since 1988 and she is presently a consultant in Anesthesia and pain therapy at Oasis Hospital and an adjunct associate professor in the department of pharmacology at the faculty of medicine and health sciences UAE University. Dr. Rabiah established the safe sedation course and is an ACLS.BLS.PALS ATLS instructor as well advisory faculty and instructor for the Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics course (ALSO). At the Oasis Hospital, she provides anesthesia in the private setting to around 400 patients obstetrics, ENT and general surgery, she helped in the inauguration of the new hospital and participates in the revision of JCIA compliant safe sedation policies.

 
Dr. Rafael Blanco
Consultant Anaesthetist

Dr. Rafa Blanco is a Consultant Anaesthetistcurrently based at Corniche Hospital in Abu Dhabi, UAE. He is the Founder and Honorary President of the London Society of Regional Anaesthesia. Co-Author of National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence IP661: Ultrasound-guided regional nerve block guidelines. His main interest is ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia, a field where he has contributed with the following: description of the Blanco block (quadratus lumborum block), Thoracic wall blocks (Pecs I and II and serratus plane block), an echogenic epidural needle (Rafa Tuohy, Vygon) and advisor in the design of multiple ultrasound machines. Other areas of development are an anaesthetic online logbook, a website (www.lsora.com ) and learning curves (CUSUM) applied to anaesthesia. Rafael Blanco has written two books and contributed to ten more in ultrasound regional anaesthesia. He has written several papers for international magazines. Course director for countless local and international workshops, congresses and meetings. Lectured in multiple congresses worldwide. His researching actively at the moment is 3D reconstructions fascial blocks and thoracic blocks as an alternative to paravertebrals or thoracic epidural. Currently, he also assumes the guest editor of SCI journal
 
Dr. Seema Pandya
Consultant Anesthesiologist

Dr. Seema started her career in Anesthesia at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital Mumbai. As a Registrar, she administered Anesthetics independently as well as supervised for a wide variety of elective and emergency surgery. During this appointment, she gained experiences in Obstetric Anesthesia, Pediatric & Neonate Anesthesia, Cardio thoracic & Invasive Cardiology Anesthesia, Neuroanaesthesia, Anesthesia for Urology, Plastic & reconstructive surgery also management of Acute trauma, Neuroradiology. During this period, she also got a special training in Intensive Cardiac Care Unit & Intensive Anesthesia care unit. Immediately, after qualifying she got an appointment at the Lilavati Hospital and Research Center as a full time Associate Specialist Anesthetist. At Lilavati Hospital, she took active participation in teaching the Para clinical staff to bring them up-to-date with clinical practices. She conducted audit projects and research projects and presented data at various national and international conferences. She presented 2 posters at the World Congress of Anaesthesia 2000 in Montreal Canada.
 
Dr. Waleed Riad Soliman
Consultant Anesthesiologist & Interventional Pain Physician

Dr. Waleed has more than 25 years of clinical experience before he joined Corniche Hospital in August 2015 as a Consultant Anesthesiologist & Interventional Pain Physician. He got hisM.B.B.Ch and MSc in Anesthesia degree from Alexandria University, Egypt and received his Medical Doctorate (Ph. D) from Alazhar University, Cairo, Egypt. With his dedication, he was able to attain his Arab Board, Saudi Board and King Saud University fellowship. His fellowship training in chronic pain was in The University of Toronto. He also has ambulatory anesthesia & perioperative medicine fellowships from the same university. He also has a special training in chronic pelvic pain. He has introduced and described a new technique for ophthalmic regional block, which is easier and safer as he called it anterior orbit anesthetic technique based on the anatomical landmarks. This has been presented in all continents of the world. He also simplifies the local anesthetic block for Dacrocystorhimostomy which allow more patients to be operated as they have a great risk for general anesthesia. His expertise in his field lead him to published more than 55 articles, scientific research papers, references and studies that focus on managing pain in different medical environment. Dr. Waleed has received several awards for the best research by Canadian anesthesia society & Toronto university. 

 

 
Prof. Medhat Shalabi
Head of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Department
Al Zahra Hospital, Dubai

Professor Shalabi is the Founder and President of the Pan Arab & Middle East Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) Society, a formal chapter of the ERAS Society. He has his training to the highest standards in Egypt as a university staff member in Alexandria University, and in the UK as a Specialist Registrar in the Merseyside (Liverpool) Deanery. He presented many papers to the Anesthetic Research Society (UK) and the British Nutrition Society. Prof. Shalabi went through the entire training scheme in the UK.  He worked as a Senior House Officer and specialist Registrar in Anesthesia, till he obtained his CCST & Specialist Registration with the General Medical Council, then worked as a Consultant Anesthetist in the UK over ten years.

He is a regular guest speaker in many International Anesthesia Conferences e.g., The Egyptian Anesthesiology Society, Alexandria Anesthesia & Intensive Care Society, Pan Arab Anesthesia Society, All Africa Anesthesia Society, Emirates Critical Care Society, Asia Africa Critical Care Society, International Pan Arab Critical Care Medicine Society, and the World Congress of Anesthesiology (WCA). Prof. Shalaby is a member of the editorial board of the Egyptian Journal of Anesthesia (EgJA). He is a European Resuscitation Council (ERC) and UK Resuscitation Council International Instructor and Course Medical Director for Advanced Life Support (ALS) Courses, and also a Generic Instructor Course Instructor (Instructing the instructors)
