2023 Applied Skills in Ergonomics

Learning Objectives

Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, the learner will be able to:
  • Measure, analyze, and interpret physical exposures in a job
  • Use a case-based approach to demonstrate proficiency in the design process
  • Apply cognitive ergonomic principles to design and implement ergonomic interventions
  • Apply macroergonomic principles to design, implement, and evaluate ergonomic interventions
  • Recommend an optimal ergonomic intervention to mitigate exposure and risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in a simulated work scenario
Practice Gap:
This course is meant to help practitioners properly understand and measure task and job level physical exposures in the workplace using the latest technology and research available. Further, this course will teach practitioners how to interpret quantified and predicted exposures in terms of increased risk for MSDs, and apply a systems approach to implementing solutions for mitigating risk.
