Applied Research Forum Kick-Off
September 20, 2012 9:30 am - 10:45 am
Room: Washington 4
The Applied Research Forum Kickoff features thought leaders in the asset-building field who will discuss both where we are as a nation in terms of financial access and asset ownership among low- and moderate-income households and research ideas we can collectively put into action in order to help strengthen household balance sheets. The session will lead off with presentations of recently released, assets-related data including the FDIC-sponsored 2011 National Survey of Unbanked and Underbanked Households. The presentations will provide new insights into household well-being during the recession recovery. A panel discussion, moderated by Sarah Rosen-Wartell, President of the Urban Institute, will follow. It will explore promising directions for future research and for building collaborative partnerships between researchers, asset-building practitioners and policy makers.
