There has always been a large gap between the wealth of white families and the wealth of African-American, Asian, Hispanic and Native American families in the U.S. and the Great Recession has made that divide much worse. This session will provide an overview of the racial wealth gap in America with gender dimensions highlighted as well. Presenters will shed light on recent data that attempts to measure economic inequities across gender and race, how this data can be improved and will offer their policy recommendations on how to mitigate these inequities.
