The Great Recession and its Impact on Wealth in Low-Income Communities and Communities of Color
September 20, 2012 2:00 pm - 3:15 pm
Room: Washington 3
The Great Recession reduced household wealth across the income spectrum. However, some households were more affected than others. This session explores how geography, race and income level influenced wealth loss and provides insights into how financial counseling might be tailored to reduce financial setbacks in the future. The discussion will explore thought-provoking questions such as under what conditions asset-building advocates should encourage low-income families to purchase homes.
