How to enter the awards

1. Review the categories and entry rules

Carefully read through this year’s Awards categories and the accompanying entry rules to help you decide which categories to enter and what information to include in your entry.

2. Complete the official online entry form 

Submit the official entry form, by the deadline of 5pm GMT, Friday 8 April 2016

Entries close at the above time, so make sure you have submitted your online entry form in time.

The Awards are FREE to enter, and you can submit as many entries as you wish across all categories. The shortlist will be announced in mid April 2016.

  


How to complete the online entry form


1. Create an online profile
and login via the entry form link above - you will use this to draft and submit your award entry(ies)

2. Complete the online entry form - you can draft and save your submission entry then return to edit it at a later date. You can find your drafts by logging into your online profile - all unsubmitted entries will have an 'Edit' link against them. Click on this link to review and edit your entry(ies). Please note, all entries with always be marked as pending regardless of whether they have been submitted or not.

3. Make your final submission by the entry deadline -  Friday 8 April, 2016.

Entry rules and criteria

1. Criteria:

Fund/ Investor categories

Investment manager of the year

Honouring excellence of managers of non-listed real estate vehicles in Europe. This category will be awarded on the basis of performance, management competence, originality of offering, combined with high quality reputation in the community.

Fund of the year - overall

Honouring excellence of non-listed real estate investment vehicles in Europe, this category will be awarded on the basis of performance, management competence, originality of offering.

Fund of the year - performance

Honouring excellence of non-listed real estate vehicles in Europe, this category will be awarded on the basis of performance, management competence, offering and size.

Fund of the year - innovation

Honouring excellence in non-listed real estate vehicles in Europe, this category will be awarded on the basis of innovation of offering, asset type or structure. Performance and management competence will play a role.

Fund of the year - specialist product

Honouring excellence of non-listed real estate vehicles in Europe, this category will be awarded on the basis of specialist product or structure. Performance, originality and management competence will play a role.

Fund of the year - new fund

Honouring excellence of non-listed real estate vehicles in Europe, this category will be awarded on the basis of new fund performance, originality and management competence.

Investment of the year – best deal overall

Honouring excellence in real estate transactions in Europe of any type, this category will be awarded on the basis of innovation, performance, asset type originality and structure. Performance and management competence will play a role.

Investment of the year – best office deal

Honouring excellence in real estate transactions in Europe in office, this category will be awarded on the basis of innovation, performance, structure and management competence

Investment of the year – specialist

Honouring excellence in a specialist real estate transaction in Europe of any type, this category will be awarded on the basis of innovation, performance, asset originality and structure. Performance and management competence will play a role.

Investment of the year – innovation

Honouring excellence in European real estate transactions of any type, this category will be awarded on the basis mainly of innovation and originality. Performance and management competence will play a role.

Multi-manager of the year

Honouring excellence in real estate multi-management/fund of funds in Europe, this category will be awarded on the basis of performance, structure, management competence and innovative approach.

Capital raise of the year

Honouring excellence in the ability to raise capital, this category will be awarded on the basis mainly of outstanding investor inflows over the judging period. Performance and management competence will play a role.

Manager of the year - newcomer

Honouring the best new talent across European real estate in fund management. This will be awarded on the basis of performance, originality, execution and competence.

Listed company/REIT of the year

Honouring excellence and performance in real estate listed or REIT vehicles in Europe, this category will be awarded on the basis of performance, structure, management competence and innovation.

Institutional investor of the year

Honouring excellence in institutional real estate investment across European real estate, this category will be awarded on the basis of corporate performance, structure, originality, competence and innovation.

Service provider/ Advisor categories

Investment brokerage of the year – deal

Honouring excellence in real estate brokerage and advisory transactions across European real estate, this category will be awarded on the basis of deal performance, innovative structure, management competence and execution.

Investment brokerage firm of the year – overall

Honouring excellence in real estate brokerage and advisory firms in European real estate, this category will be awarded on the basis of performance, structure, management competence and innovation.

Capital advisory firm of the year

Honouring excellence in capital advisory across European real estate, this category will be awarded on the basis of performance, structure, originality, execution, competence and innovation.

Law firm of the year – fund formation

Honouring excellence in legal advisory in fund structuring and formation across European real estate, this category will be awarded on the basis of performance, originality, execution and competence.

Law firm of the year – transactional

Honouring excellence in providing real estate transactional services and advice across Europe, this category will be awarded on the basis of the ability to execute on behalf of the client, market knowledge and partner competence.

 

Industry contribution award

Honouring excellence in an individual career across European real estate in any category of institutional investment and advisory. This will be awarded on the basis of long-term performance, originality, execution and competence.


2. Judging Decisions:

The judging panel will comprise representatives from PIE, leading institutional and private investors and industry experts.
Each member of the judging panel will have an equal vote in choosing the winners in each category. Decisions should be unanimous, but a majority will suffice. 

Judging decisions will be based on performance, qualitative information and structural criteria.


Judging process

    
All judges will comply with a confidentiality agreement to ensure no information is disclosed or discussed outside of the judging process. 

A shortlist of finalists for each category will be announced in April with the winners revealed on 7 June at the Banking Hall, London. Please mark this important date on your calendar.
