Kris Alberti has an extensive construction, management, and instruction background which she has blended to produce informative programs with practical solutions for her audiences. Bringing 20 years of experience problem solving, recommending products and creating compliance tools to her clients, Kris’s students leave her classes and clients with tangible plans and applications for their companies.
Kris has spent the last 10 years as the Director of Northwest Independent Contractors Association helping businesses that do not have Safety, Human Resource, or Consultants on staff.

Joe has 15 years experience as the regional Safety & Environmental Coordinator for the Papé Group.  He is charged with creating a safe working environment at several facilities throughout the Pacific Northwest.

 
Rhett Carpenter
Rhett James Carpenter is a Central Washington University graduate, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety & Health Management, and minors in both Risk & Environmental Management. As a collegiate athlete, Rhett achieved Hall of Fame honors during his football career as a Wildcat. Throughout his years, Rhett has gained extensive experience in the construction and general industries alike. As a Safety, Health & Environmental Professional, Rhett is committed to achieving excellence in all facets of his work. As the Safety & Training Director for The Integrated Group, Inc., Mr. Carpenter holds credentials as a CHST, and is an instructor for a plethora of safety, health & environmental related courses taught throughout many states. Mr. Carpenter is a Region X instructor for a variety of courses at the University of Washington Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences. He is an authorized instructor through the Department of Ecology and provides Erosion and Sediment Control courses to many contractors throughout the state. In addition, he provides environmental services to many organizations. Rhett is also the facilitator for the Puget Sound Safety Summit Conference, a monthly gathering of a networked alliance of government, management and labor, who come together to develop methods and solutions for the industry. While working with many organizations throughout his career, Rhett has assisted in the development, improvement and implementation of safety, health & environmental programs. He has performed a multitude of consultation services, training and oversite, ensuring the overall effectiveness of risk management at all levels.
 
Roseann Collins
Employer Services Outreach Supervisor
WA Dept.of Labor & Industries

Roseann Collins is the Employer Services Outreach Supervisor for the Department of Labor and Industries. She has worked at Labor and Industries for 6 years. First as a Workers’ compensation Account Manager where her focus was helping employers report and classify workers correctly and maintaining their industrial insurance accounts. Then in Outreach where she  uses her passions for keeping Washington safe and work  to help employers understand recordkeeping and reporting rules for industrial insurance including independent contractor rules. She does this through presentations, the L&I website, tradeshows and newsletter articles. In addition to educating employers, she takes back what she hears and shares it with other agency staff. She attended Orange Coast College. She is currently working on creating better onboarding resources for new employers.

 
David Conley
WA Dept. of Labor & Industries
Dave is a Technical Specialist for the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries in Standards and Technical Services for the Division of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH) and specializes in Commercial and Industrial Construction safety.  He spent 22 years as a Commercial Construction General Contractor and in his spare time, works to find a cure for cancer.  He is a self professed gadget geek and and technology nerd.

Executive Administrator – Washington 811, Member of team that revised Washington State Dig law RCW 19.122., Executive Director Washington Utilities Coordinating Council, Member of Common Ground Alliance Best practices Steering Team, Member National Utility Contractor Association of Washington -Legislative and Safety Committees, Associate Member of Evergreen Rural Water of Washington, resident of Port Orchard, WA married 42 years in a row (to the same woman!) father of two grandfather of three.

Education : University of Arizona and California State University at Long Beach.

 
Rick Gleason

Rick Gleason, MSPH, worked for Federal OSHA and Washington State WISHA as an inspector for 13 years. He has been teaching undergraduate students, graduate students, and working professionals at the University of Washington for the last 15 years. Rick currently serves as a senior lecturer in the UW Department of Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences (DEOHS).His is also the lead Seattle area instructor for the Pacific Northwest OSHA Education Center, which is housed within DEOHS.
 
Pete Goddard
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a member of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, Pete provides 75 Critical Incident Stress Debriefings each year to local businesses, construction sites, schools and sites of natural disasters.  His background of being an EMT/Firefighter, teacher, a successful construction company owner, and 30 years experience being a therapist gives him a unique perspective when working with personnel who have experienced a traumatic event.  He works with management to design programs that meet the needs of their employees with the least negative impact on production.

John has worked supporting construction and industry in the Pacific Northwest for the last 15 years. In 2014 he joined Python safety as Regional Sales Manager for WA, OR, CA, AK and HI. Python Safety is now part the 3M Fall Protection Group. John’s focus is managing the Python product line and sharing the concept of Fall Protection For Tools.
 
Michael Ka'uhane

Michael Ka’uhane is a Safety Management Consultant for SAIF Corporation in Oregon working in Safety Services.  Michael joined SAIF’s Safety Consultant team in 2008.  Prior to joining SAIF, he served in the U.S. Air Force as Senior Aircrew Life Support Specialist attached to Fighter Groups in the U.S. Japan, Korea and the Philippines. He has worked in variety of safety-sensitive positions as a heavy equipment operator and as a tree faller and climber.. His consultation and management experience came from being a senior non-commissioned officer in the Air Force as well as career stops with Harley Davidson Motorcycles and the men’s clothing industry. 
 
Mandi Kime

Mandi is a CWU alumnus of the Safety and Health Management Program and currently serves as the Director of Safety for AGC of Washington. She also has a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and teaches Spanish for Supervisors in the Construction Industry. Mandi has worked for AGC for 11 years in the Safety Department, helping members with safety programs, training, doing Safety Team inspections, working on legislative/ regulatory issues pertaining to safety and serving on various safety committees. Mandi enjoys spending time camping and traveling with her family including her husband, her 6 year old daughter and 2 year old triplets.
 
Andrew Ledbetter

Andrew Ledbetter graduated from Central Washington University with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety & Health Management with interest in construction, and industrial technologies. While at Central, Andrew was involved with various groups, including the student section of the ASSE and ASME. He is from Seattle, WA and currently works as a Safety Specialist for the Associated General Contractors of Washington.

 
Tuyen Manikhoth

Tuyen Manikhoth started her state career with L&I in 1991 and has worked in various Programs within the Agency.  She starting in the account manager series in Employer Services and worked up to a supervisory position.  In 2004, she left Employer Services to accept a promotion as a Risk Management Consultant in DOSH.  She worked in DOSH for 10 years, working closely with the Employer Community teaching them the importance of safety, claims management, and Return to Work.  She joined the Stay at Work Program as an Outreach Specialist in 2015 so she could continue to work with and help the Employer Community by educating them about the benefits of utilizing the Stay at Work Program and assisting them to create a Return to Work Culture.

Rick has been in the safety industry for over 20 years.  His last 17 years have been completely devoted to fall protection. 

In 2004 he joined the Capital Safety team as a Regional Sales Manager for the DBI/SALA and Protecta brands.  His area of responsibility is WA, OR, AK and his focus is working closely with end users to establish safe working practices for individuals working and height.

Rick has completed several OSHA (500, 501 and 311 courses).  He is also a Spanish trainer for Capital Safety.  He is active with many different industries including manufacturing, construction, aviation and mining.  His services include support, training and on site analysis.

David Perlman
David has been in private practice as a DOT qualified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) and as an Employee Assistance professional providing service to WCISAP for twelve years. His is also licensed as a Chemical Dependency Professional (CDP) and Certified Counselor by the State of Washington. Prior to becoming a SAP, David worked in a variety of positions as a CDP; Adolescent Inpatient Treatment, Adult Inpatient Treatment, Detox Services, ADATSA Treatment Center and as a Clinical Director in a private facility and he also taught classes in the Alcohol and Drug Studies Program at Seattle Central Community College. David holds a Baccalaureate Degree from the University of Illinois with a major in Psychology, an Alcohol and Chemical Dependency Certificate from Edmonds Community College and is a Nationally Certified Addictions Counselor, Level II through NAADAC.

Nichole Rose

Nichole began her career as an Industrial Hygienist with DOSH over 25 years ago and currently enjoys working as part of DOSH’s Education and Outreach creative team. Over the years she has conducted workplace safety inspections, provided technical and interpretative support to DOSH inspectors, developed and conducted safety training for inspectors and businesses, and authored various safety publications like Hazard Alerts, Fact Sheets, and eBulletins. She considers herself fortunate to work in a job that allows here to help workers and businesses prevent occupational injuries and illnesses.

Doug has over 30 years of construction experience. His construction experience includes the following but not limited to: earth moving, underground utilities, bituminous surface treatment, roadway grading, and asphalt paving. Supervisor of paving crew, driver dispatch, traffic control personnel; 12 years as director of safety on all projects; manage overall safety program, industrial insurance claims, drug and alcohol program, KOS (kept on salary) light duty program, coordinate safety with project managers, supervisors, foremen; attend pre-construction meetings; attend project weekly meeting.  Doug has successfully managed safety on projects ranging in value from less than $1 Million to over $11 Million, within the Puget sound area.

Mike is Parker Smith & Feek’s Risk Control Specialist and a Principal of the firm. His role is to develop proactive Risk Control programs designed to reduce exposures to hazardous or dangerous conditions that could lead to injury or property damage. He works with our Account Service Teams and clients to identify safety and risk control practices, and assists in implementing appropriate programs to avoid or limit loss. Typical areas of investigation include fire hazards, earthquake, flood, and other natural perils. Mike also serves as a resource in property valuations and is available to assist our clients in safety, disaster planning, and crisis management. He has a broad base of Loss Control experience, working with clients drawn from a wide range of industries. Mike consults with our largest clients on a regular basis throughout the year

Russ Youngstrom, a work-related paraplegic, has dedicated his life to preventing accidents like the one that paralyzed him. He seeks to connect with risk-takers to explain the costs of their actions, and the companies that employ them to stop the behaviors that cause accidents. He is on a mission to end complacency towards safety rules and training, and empower workers to CHOOSE safety for themselves and those they care about most.
