On behalf of the organising committee I am pleased to invite you the first combined IMSANZ and SOMANZ Annual Scientific Meeting to be held at the Alice Springs Convention Centre from Thursday 15th September to Saturday 17th September 2016. This meeting will showcase the latest research and knowledge in both Internal Medicine and Obstetric Medicine.
The interface between Internal Medicine and Obstetrics is becoming increasingly important as the health of the mother is not only critical for a successful pregnancy, but also the intrauterine environment and the outcome of the pregnancy is important for the long term general medical health of the child.
A highlight of the meeting will be a focus on renal disease in the pregnant and non-pregnant patient. Other topics will include infectious diseases, indigenous health and cardiovascular disease.
The Conference will incorporate three days of both plenary and breakout sessions, along with a Welcome Reception and Conference Dinner, allowing plenty of time to network and connect with colleagues old and new.
Breakout sessions will be available for general physicians, obstetric physicians, obstetricians and trainees. This will be an opportunity for physicians and obstetricians to come together and share their knowledge, in one of Australian’s great destinations.
