Thomaston Biorefinery Tour

$25 to participate.  Space is limited to 50 and pre-registration is required.

Buses will depart from the hotel at 8:00 AM. Buses will arrive at the facility at 9:15am, and the tour is from 9:30am to 11:00am (Participants will be divided into two groups.) Buses will return to the hotel by approximately 12:15pm.

Hosted by American Process Inc. (API), this tour will feature their Thomaston Biorefinery (3.5 dry tons/day biomass throughput) that produces nanocellulose, pulp, cellulosic sugars, cellulosic ethanol, and native lignin from a variety of biomass feedstocks (HW, SW, agricultural residues, etc) using their patented AVAP® technology. The plant’s new nanocellulose demonstration line produces cellulose nanofibrils, cellulose nanocrystals, and lignin-coated, hydrophobic varieties of each directly from biomass. The facility is situated on 8 acres and includes 41,000 square feet of manufacturing space along with API’s corporate R&D laboratory.

This tour is open to both PEERS and IBBC Conference participants.
