2015 ACS & AAG Regional Conference

AAG & ACS REGIONAL CONFERENCE - Thriving Through Change

Australian Association of Gerontology (NSW Division) (AAG) and Aged & Community Services of NSW & ACT (ACS) are hosting the 2015 Regional Conference at the Soldiers Club Batemans Bay on Thursday 5 and Friday 6 March, 2015.

The ageing, health and disability sectors are amidst the widest ranging reforms we have seen in recent time, and we are not there yet!

Together we are moving toward a new environment, with new pathways and structures that will emerge from the change. We are beginning to envisage a very different service and support environment, increasingly consumer directed, which focuses on quality of life whilst maximising cost efficiencies.

Thriving through this change requires new ways of thinking, innovative approaches to service delivery and an ability to think outside the box.

AAG and ACS have again come together to explore these issues, bringing providers, researchers and policy makers together to showcase what is new and possible into the future.

The Conference will be of interest to health and aged care practitioners, researchers, community care providers, policy makers and planners and anyone interested in current issues in ageing. The Conference will examine the progress made to date in reforming the care for older Australians.

  • Can we really achieve better care for lower cost?
  • Who pays the hidden costs of improving government-funded care?
  • What does better care really mean for consumers, for carers and for care workers?
  • Should we focus more on reducing the disabling effects of ageing to reduce the need for formal care?
