About the Awards

South Australian businesses that have demonstrated excellence in the last 10 months can nominate for 13 business award categories and 14 export award categories.

All nominations are automatically considered for the prestigious major awards: The SA Business of the Year Award and The SA Exporter of the Year Award.

Winners of the export award categories are eligible for the national Australian Export Awards Wednesday 26 November.

In October, The South Australian Business Chamber, in partnership with the Government of South Australia will host a night of celebration, acknowledging great local business which have demonstrated excellence, and announcing the winners of the 2025 South Australian Premier’s Business and Export Awards.

Business Award Categories  

Indigenous Business of the Year Award
​​​​​​​Small Business of the Year Award – for businesses with < 20 full-time employees

Medium Business of the Year Award – for businesses with between 20–200 full-time employees

Large Business of the Year Award – for businesses with over 200 full-time employees

Regional Business of the Year Award – for businesses located outside of the greater Adelaide metropolitan area

Innovative Business of the Year Award

Beyond Borders Business of the Year – for businesses that sell goods and services interstate

ESG Business of the Year Award for Environmental / Social Outcomes

Emerging Business of the Year Award – for businesses less than 5 years old

Not-for-Profit Business of the Year Award – for charities, community organisations and other Not-for-Profit organisations

Family Business of the Year Award – for businesses in family ownership

Workplace Culture and Wellbeing Award

The Governor’s Award for Business Achievement in Gender Equity
