Forecasters predict a surge in demand for minerals associated with the energy transition, but at what cost? Join us for a discussion with Thea Riofrancos about her forthcoming book, Extraction: The Frontiers of Green Capitalism – a wide-ranging account of the global lithium sector, environmental protest, geopolitical tensions, corporate strategies, and emerging visions for globally just supply chains.
Riofrancos is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Providence College and is this year's guest speaker for our Warren Miller Colloquium. The Colloquium Series is supported by Miller's wife, Dr. Ruth Jones, who joined ASU as a faculty member in 1981.
