Live and intern in Washington, D.C. and earn up to 12 upper division credits through POS 494: Policy Design Studio, a course and internship program. An entirely virtual version of the program is also available and all majors are encouraged to apply!
Join us April 2, 2025 from 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. (Arizona time) in COOR 6631 for an info session on the program.
Highlights include:
U.S. Embassy Simulation: Play the role of a U.S. embassy official throughout the semester dealing with actual events as they happen under the guidance of a former Ambassador.
Real-World Experience: Meet with prominent experts, discuss and debate real-time policy challenges, and develop a strategy for the future of U.S. relations with an important partner: India
Expert Guidance: Work directly with senior diplomats, military officers, and others to learn about national security policy and leadership
Life in Washington, D.C.: Explore all the nation's capital has to offer while earning course credit. Visit government agencies and historical sites, and attend networking events.
About Ambassador O'Donnell
O’Donnell was a career U.S. senior diplomat, serving four decades in Europe, Latin America and most recently Afghanistan, with experience working with Russian diplomats in multilateral organizations, Germany, Afghanistan, Austria and at the U.S. State Department. He was an economic cone officer, helping U.S. business overseas and was Presidential Envoy for Holocaust Issues and also U.S. negotiating Ambassador at the Organization of American States.
