Tunnel Mountain Hike - with conference organizer Cindy Adams

Tunnel Mountain is Banff’s smallest summit and boasts all-encompassing views of the town site, surrounding mountain peaks and the Bow River. With moderately-steep switchbacks through the forested mountainside that lead to a wide view atop a knoll, a round-trip should only take 1-2 hours (3.6 km / 2.2 miles return). This easy rated trail begins from Tunnel Mountain Dr. just north of The Banff Centre. Be sure to wear sturdy footwear and bring a bottle of water.

Beer Tour with Dave

The number of craft breweries in Alberta has tripled over the last three years with at least 30 new breweries opened in 2018 in the province. Alberta farmers grow some of the world’s most sought-after barley and agricultural product plus cold Glacier mountain water. It only makes sense to grow the brewing industry right here in the Bow Valley.

Hop on board the Brew Bus and ready yourself for a timeless journey through the Bow Valley. On this tour we visit three breweries tucked between towering peaks and glacial rivers. Canmore Brewing Company, Grizzly Paw Brewery and Banff Ave Brewing Co. offer a variety of mountain inspired concoctions ready for you to taste. The tour starts with a pint of local brew at the Banff Ave Brewing Co. in the clock tower, Main Street in Banff. After successfully launching Canada’s first National Park Brewery in Jasper in 2006 the Banff Ave Brewing Co was founded in 2010 by this same group. We’ll then board a small bus for a scenic 20 minute drive to Canmore, AB just outside the park gates where will visit two more breweries.
