Baltimore is the perfect setting for Facing Race 2012 because of its deep history in the racial justice movement and continued efforts to curtail institutional and structural racism. Known as “Charm City,” Baltimore is a city of diverse, intimate neighborhoods. From the gritty intersections of “The Wire” to the flamboyant cinema of John Waters, the narratives of Baltimore mirror changes in American culture.
