Millennium Park

Millennium Park is an award-winning center for art, music, architecture, and landscape design. The result of a unique partnership between the City of Chicago and the philanthropic community, the 24.5-acre park features the work of world-renowned architects, planners, artists, and designers.

Art Institute of Chicago
The Art Institute of Chicago is a world-renowned art museum housing the third-largest permanent collection in the United States. The museum has particularly strong collections of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist painting, early twentieth-century European painting and sculpture, contemporary art, Japanese prints, and photography. The Art Institute’s Modern Wing, in a Renzo Piano–designed building, showcases twentieth-century works from the museum’s holdings. The Nichols Bridgeway, a pedestrian bridge also designed by Renzo Piano, connects the Modern Wing to Chicago’s popular Millennium Park.

The Field Museum
Come face to face with Sue, the world-famous T. Rex; explore the ocean floor of an ancient Cambrian sea; see, hear and smell the swampy forest that was Chicago 300 million years ago; and more at the Field Museum. There’s even a place specially suited for your little Museum explorers! In the Crown Family PlayLab, pint-sized scientists can dig up dinosaur bones, harvest corn, play in a Pueblo, feel the rhythms of instruments from around the world and play the part of a woodland creature as they crawl, hop, and fly.

Shedd Aquarium
Beautifully situated on the shores of Lake Michigan, Shedd Aquarium is known as “The World’s Aquarium.” The facility, one of the world’s largest indoor aquariums, houses more than 32,600 aquatic animals representing some 1,500 species of fishes, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, birds and mammals from waters around the world. The re-imagined Oceanarium, a world-class marine mammal pavilion, is now open! Visit with the beluga whales, dolphins, sea otters, sea lions, and penguins.

Magnificent Mile
There is no more iconic Chicago street than the Magnificent Mile. Running the length of Michigan Avenue from the Chicago River to Lake Shore Drive, the “Mag Mile” is the heart of the city’s shopping district.
