The changing role of the travel professional - hear how a progressive travel buyer has reinvented the traditional role of the Travel Manager into a strategic role, supporting the overall corporate objectives rather than focusing solely on cost control.
Ralph Ruckgaber, Business Development Manager (Special Projects), Volkswagen Group Fleet International

Session 1: Evolving roles in a changing landscape
The roles and responsibilities of the Travel Manager continue to change. With more open bookings, less contracting and a wider remit covering additional functions, the role is changing from travel management to mobility management. Where does today’s travel buyer belong and how do TMC’s support these developments? What tools are developing to support the new landscape?  A panel of TMC’s will share research outcomes and innovative solutions to reduce costs and optimise the complete travel process to support the travel manager. Discussions will include mobile communications; door-to-door portals; direct connect; KPIs; ancillary fees and more.
