2019 GCMAS Annual Conference
 

The 2019 GCMAS Meeting will be held March 26-29,2019, at the Embassy Suites Frisco Hotel and Conference Center in Frisco, TX. Frisco is located about 20miles north of downtown Dallas. Frisco is the nation’s fasting growing large city according to the 2017 US Census. As the home to seven professional sports teams including the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Stars, FC Dallas, the NBA G-league Texas Legends and the MiLB Double-A Frisco RoughRiders, it is also called “Sports City USA”.

Conference Hotel Reservations (Through March 3rd)
The Embassy Suites Frisco Hotel and Conference Center will the primary lodging site for the 2019 GCMAS Meeting. All official conference activities will occur within the attached Frisco Conference Center. The rooms available, for a discounted conference daily rate of $179 + tax, include both Single and Double Suites. All rooms are newly renovated two-room suites which include complimentary Wi-Fi access, flat-screen TVs, refrigerator and microwaves. Hotel amenities include: free made-to-order breakfast, complimentary Evening Reception in the hotel bar, indoor pool, 24 hour fitness center, and onside dining (Cyprus Grille) and spa (Spa Botanica).

Getting Here
There are two major airports which service Frisco, TX - Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International (19 miles/25 minutes) and Dallas Love Field (15 miles/31 mins). Ground transportation to the Embassy Suites is available via Taxi, Uber/Lyft and Super Shuttle services. Approximate costs from are $30 (Non-rush hour Uber/Shared Ride SuperShuttle) to $60 (Taxi/Non-stop SuperShuttle) from either airport. Evening rush hour traffic (4 to 6:30pm) will cause delays in transportation, so for best rates, plan your arrivals accordingly.

Things to Do
As the fastest growing large city in America, there are plenty of things to do in Frisco, and the DFW area. Sports fans will enjoy the many professional and semi-pro teams located in the Frisco area, including the Star and Ford Center (NFL’s Dallas Cowboys headquarters and training facility), Dr. Pepper StarCenter (NHL’s Dallas Stars headquarters and training facility), Dr. Pepper Ballpark (MiLB’s Texas RoughRiders), Dr. Pepper Area (NBA Gatorade League’s Texas Legends and Champions Indoor Football League’s Texas Revolution) and Toyota Stadium (MLS’s FC Dallas). There are 100’s of dining and shopping businesses within a 5 mile vicinity of the hotel, many of which are within walking distance of the hotel, including the Stonebriar Mall. Frisco is home to several cultural attractions and museums including numerous art galleries, Sci-Tech Discovery Center, Texas Sculpture Garden, National Videogame Museum, and the Museum of the American Railroad.

Frisco is situated in the far north area of the DFW Metroplex. Dallas and Fort Worth are two unique cities that offer a large variety of additional cultural, dining, shopping and entertainment opportunities. Some of the best sites in Dallas include the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, The Perot Museum of Nature and Science, the Dallas Zoo, Dallas World Aquarium, Sixth Floor Museum/Dealey Plaza, Dallas Museum of Art and the George W Bush Presidential Center. The Fort Worth area includes the Fort Worth Zoo, Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, the Fort Worth Stockyards, Globe Life Park in Arlington (MBA Texas Rangers), AT&T Stadium (NFL Dallas Cowboys), and Six Flags Over Texas.
