What is the main aim of “The Ride Back to Alice”?

The Ride Back to Alice is a ride sponsored by Victory and Indian Motorcycle to raise money for the Black Dog Ride Charity.The Black Dog Ride is a national suicide prevention charity whose mission is to raise awareness of depression and suicide prevention.

I can’t join the whole ride? How can I get involved?

If you can’t join the whole ride, you can still get involved! With each night broken down per accommodation costs etc, you can involved in a couple or one night of the ride or just an event. The key events for the trip are as below:

Sunday 5th June: Join us for an Ian Moss Concert at the Amaroo Hotel in Dubbo. To register to be part of the concert, please email info@theridebacktoalice.com.au

Friday 10th June: Ian Moss VIP Concert at Finke Desert Race. To register to be part of the concert, please email info@theridebacktoalice.com.au


How much does registration cost and what does it include?


Registration costs are $150 per person. This includes a “Ride Back to Alice” commemorative Kit, ride support and access to the VIP Ian Moss concert in Alice Springs.

I have registered for the Ride, now what?

If you have registered for the Ride, please contact your closest dealership to complete a pre-ride check. It is important to have your bike running at its best and make sure the tyres are right to cope with the kilometres to be travelled!

How much luggage can I take?

We ask that riders be self-sufficient for carrying luggage on the ride. Our support vehicles will be limited in space so please pack lightly, to carry on your bike.

Will there be a support vehicle following the ride?

Yes, we will have a support vehicle departing from each leg to Alice Springs to assist with any minor repairs that are required. If a bike requires major service, it will delivered to the next stop on the route for the rider to contact their roadside assistance provider. We will not be equipped to tow bikes all the way to Alice or back. Please ensure that you have your free pre ride check up at the dealer before you start the ride. The support vehicle will also be returning from Alice Springs departing on Sunday the 12th June and following the Sydney route back.

I have a Scout, will you provide petrol if I am unable to make it between stops?

Yes, we have planned each of the ride routes with Scout riders in mind.  There are a few stops over 250 kms and our support vehicle will be carrying extra fuel to make sure all bikes make it to the next stop.


Will there be medical support along the ride?

Ride Safe will be following the Sydney leg of the ride all the way to Alice Springs in case of an emergency. This ride will meet with both the Brisbane and Melbourne legs, at either Dubbo or Port Augusta.

What is the cancellation fee?

If you cancel your booking on the ride, you will be charged a $75 cancellation fee. If you cancel within 48 hours of your ride departing you will not be entitled to a refund.

Can I join the ride if I don't own a Victory or Indian?

Of course, please join us.
