The Great Salt Lake

As the largest natural lake west of the Mississippi River and the largest salt water lake in the western hemisphere, the Great Salt Lake is perhaps the best known geologic feature in the area. 

The lake has a rich history, interesting features, plays an important role in the ecosystem and provides abundant recreational opportunities.

Olympic Venues

Located 20 minutes from Salt Lake in Park City, Utah, the Utah Olympic Park was the host venue of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games' ski jumping, bobsled, and luge events—as well as the first Olympic skeleton competition since 1948.

The Utah Olympic Park continues to be a major training site for current and prospective Olympians.

City Creek Center

City Creek Center is a must-see attraction, with a fully tractable glass roof that opens and closes, unique to any shopping center in the United States. A pedestrian sky bridge over Main Street unifies the center on two city blocks.

Water features include a creek that runs through the center, a fish pond with local trout and waterfalls. 

Red Butte Garden and Arboretum

Red Butte Garden and Arboretum is one of the largest botanical gardens in the Intermountain West, a regional center for plant-focused science education, conservation and research, and cultural enrichment.

The Garden is renowned for its diverse plant collections, themed gardens, and spectacular mountain setting, with almost 590,000 springtime blooming bulbs, award-winning horticulture-based educational programs, and an iconic outdoor summer concert series.

Utah State Fair

The Utah State Fair is a beloved annual event that takes place in September, featuring live music, carnival rides, delicious food, and a wide variety of exhibits and competitions. It's a great way to experience the local culture and have a fun-filled day with family and friends.

Hogle Zoo

Utah's Hogle Zoo creates champions for wildlife. Visitors of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy hundreds of resident animals in the African Savanna, Great Apes, Primate Forest, Small Animal Building, Rocky Shores, Asian Highlands, and the new Aline W. Skaggs Wild Utah exhibit.
