About the Event

The 7th Annual ASTM Autonomy in Aviation Symposium will be held October 5, 2026 - October 6, 2026. This symposium is organized by ASTM’s autonomy design and operations in aviation administrative committee (AC377), and will be held at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront, Jacksonville, FL, United States of America in conjunction with committees F37 and F44 at October Committee Week. The language of the 7th Annual ASTM Autonomy in Aviation Symposium will be English.

ASTM AC377 promotes collaboration among aviation autonomy stakeholders to improve safety and efficiency in aviation. This year’s focus, Human vs. Automation Centric Future: Paradigm or Paradox, will take an in-depth look at how we can make the most of both technology and human capabilities. While the limits of technology and design may dictate the need for human operators to govern aviation automation for the near future, it is still important to discuss the tenets of human centric design and automation centric design, identifying whether making the best of both will require a paradigm shift or present a paradox.

Attendees will: 

• Explore how increasing automation is shaping the future of aviation by enhancing safety and addressing critical safety challenges.
• Gain insight into how autonomy is unlocking new operational capabilities for both civil and military aviation.
• Examine pathways toward a future where advanced systems reduce reliance on exceptional pilot skill or extensive training.
• Engage in informed discussion on the realistic limits of today’s technologies, including design best practices and the role of human performance.

The discounted rate will be honored until the ASTM block is full, but no later than Friday, September 12th, 2026. The ASTM rate is $189, plus tax and fees. The Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront has a limited number of rooms at the government per diem rate. The government per diem rates are set by fiscal year, effective October 1 each year; you will be charged the prevailing rate at the time of the meeting, not at the time of booking. You must present your ID at the front desk upon check-in.

CANCELLATION/CHANGE POLICY: All cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to arrival.

IMPORTANT! ASTM Rates are non-commissionable. If you book your reservation through a travel agent, they must ask for a non-commissioned ASTM Group Rate. ASTM cannot adjust your higher rate if commissions were paid to a travel agency.

The October Committee Week Hotel provides prime meeting space for your committee meetings, events, and activities. ASTM International is legally bound to fill the contracted guest room block, and an inability to fill the block will result in severe financial penalties, which could affect negotiations and increase costs for future meetings.
