About the Event
The Workshop on Collaborating for Resilience: Standards, Practice, and Partnership will be held October 8, 2026. The workshop is organized by ASTM Committee E50 on Environmental Assessment, Risk Management and Corrective Action and ARISE U.S., a UNDRR Private Sector Alliance for Disaster Resilient Societies, and will be held at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront, Jacksonville, Florida, USA in conjunction with the standards development meetings of the committee. The language of the workshop will be English.
Objective and Scope
This workshop will focus on strengthening community disaster resilience and advancing disaster risk reduction through cross-sector collaboration. Participants will connect with peers, exchange practical insights, and engage in targeted networking, while exploring ASTM standards and guidance that support resilience-focused business practices, along with updates on relevant policy and governance considerations.
Topics will include:
- Standards - use of standards in real-world scenarios
- Policy/Governance - policy implementation challenges
- Climate Mapping - business continuity innovations, and community recovery strategies
- Public/Private Partnership - public-private coordination models
Who Should Attend
This workshop will be of interest to emergency management and community resilience professionals, private sector business continuity and risk management leaders, infrastructure operators, and government policymakers and regulators involved in disaster risk reduction. The workshop is also well suited for standards and technical experts, nonprofit and NGO leaders working in disaster preparedness and recovery, and academic researchers focused on resilience and climate adaptation. Additionally, it can benefit cross-sector partnership leaders and industry associations that play a role in advancing collaborative resilience efforts.

A technical program (presentation times, titles, and presenters’ names) will be posted on the ASTM website by mid-August 2026.

The Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront has a limited number of rooms at the government per diem rate. The government per diem rates are set by fiscal year, effective October 1 each year; you will be charged the prevailing rate at the time of the meeting, not at the time of booking. You must present your ID at the front desk upon check-in.
CANCELLATION/CHANGE POLICY: All cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to arrival.
IMPORTANT! ASTM Rates are non-commissionable. If you book your reservation through a travel agent, they must ask for a non-commissioned ASTM Group Rate. ASTM cannot adjust your higher rate if commissions were paid to a travel agency.
The October Committee Week Hotel provides prime meeting space for your committee meetings, events, and activities. ASTM International is legally bound to fill the contracted guest room block, and an inability to fill the block will result in severe financial penalties, which could affect negotiations and increase costs for future meetings.
