Things to do in Halifax

Maritime Museum of the Atlantic: Located in the heart of the waterfront, immerse yourself in Nova Scotia’s rich maritime heritage. Show your conference badge for 20% off admission. 

Peace by Chocolate: A popular artisanal chocolate shop with a unique and inspiring story.  There is even an award-winning film made about its founders and their vision of spreading peace and kindness through their chocolate.

Nathan Green Square: A scenic spot at the water’s edge where you can relax and watch the ships on the harbourfront. 

The Lower Deck: A favourite “go-to” pub for locals and a “must visit” for tourists. Great food, drinks, and local entertainment seven nights a week.

Downtown Halifax boasts some unforgettable dining experiences with fresh local seafood and scenic views of the harbour.  If you’re not a seafood lover, there is plenty of other local fare to choose from.  Some popular spots along the waterfront include:

The Bicycle Thief: Italian cuisine, speciality cocktails, indoor and outdoor seating – 16 min. walk from hotel

Salt & Ash Beach House: Live fire cooking, seafood, pizza, steak – 7 min. walk from hotel

Los Toros: Spanish cuisine, wine bar – 6 min. walk from hotel

Sea Smoke: Located right on the boardwalk, offering a sushi bar and Asian-inspired dishes – 15 min. walk from hotel

Getting around Halifax

There is plenty to see and do on the boardwalk and harbourfront, all within walking distance of the hotel, but if you feel like expanding your sightseeing, check out HFX e-Scooters for a fun alternative. Electric scooters are scattered throughout the waterfront area that you can easily rent for a small fee. Also check out Halifax Transit for buses that operate throughout the city.
