Workshop on Weathering and Durability Testing 2026
(Virtual event only)
Date: March 11, 2026
Event Location: Virtual only
Organized by: ASTM Committee D01 Paint and Related Coatings, Materials, and Applications and Committee G03 on Weathering and Durability
About the Event
The Workshop on Weathering and Durability Testing 2026 will be held March 11, 2026. The workshop is organized by ASTM Committee D01 Paint and Related Coatings, Materials, and Applications and Committee G03 on Weathering and Durability and will be held virtually. The language of the workshop will be English.
Objective and Scope
This workshop will provide a forum for the exchange of ideas on current research, nationally and internationally, across the durability and weathering fields.
Abstracts for presentation are invited for this workshop. Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
- Analysis of material degradation
- Service-life prediction of material degradation
- Durability/weathering test method development
- Weathering analysis tools
- Correlation of outdoor exposures and laboratory tests
- Climate analysis as related to weathering
- Weathering standards development
- Non-weathering but durability related topics
The topics can cover but are not limited to general weathering knowledge, or durability testing and evaluation of specific materials such as paints and coatings, plastics, sealants, roofing, solar materials, textiles, adhesives, fasteners, and consumer products. Testing techniques include outdoor natural exposures or accelerated and simulated testing in the laboratory.
Who Should Attend
The target audience are industrial and academic organizations/personnel involved in the use and/or development of weather durable products, manufacturing of weathering devices and offering of weathering services. They are assumed to have mid-level technical knowledge of weathering techniques and basic material considerations during weathering.
Abstract Submission
To participate in the symposium, authors must submit a 300-word (maximum) abstract pertaining to the above topics to Workshop Chairs Kady Gregersen and David Cocuzzi by December 1, 2025.
Technical Program
A technical program (presentation times, titles, and presenters’ names) will be posted on the ASTM website by early 2026.
Registration
Registration opens approximately 10 weeks before the start of the workshop.
