ALUMNI AWARDS

Honoring Cabrini alumni, graduating seniors, faculty or staff who bleed blue in everything they do! Please join us in celebrating our 2025 Alumni Award recipients who were selected by the CAVS Association Events & Awards Committee. They will be honored at our Alumni Weekend "Blue & White Bash" on Saturday, September 13. If you have any questions, please email cabrinialumni@villanova.edu

St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Award for Community Service: Craig Vagell '05 

Recognizes an alumnus for their extraordinary volunteer service to the external community. The nominee must have graduated 10 years ago or more and cannot be a member of the CAVS Leadership Council. Past CAVS Leadership Council members are eligible only if two years have elapsed since they served.

Martha Dale Award for Distinguished Alumni Service: Jacqueline Marciano '10, G '17 

Recognizes an alumnus who has demonstrated longstanding loyalty, dedication and interest in Cabrini and the Alumni Association. The nominee must have graduated 10 years ago or more and cannot be a current member of the CAVS Leadership Council. Past CAVS Leadership Council members are eligible only if two years have elapsed since they served. 

Distinguished Career Achievement Award: Roberta Larkins '85 

Recognizes an alumnus whose extraordinary career achievements embody Cabrini’s mission of leadership development and commitment to social justice and academic excellence. The nominee must have graduated 10 years ago or more and cannot be a current member of the CAVS Leadership Council. Past CAVS Leadership Council members are eligible only if two years have elapsed since they served.

Shirley Dixon Award for Urban Education: Alycia Bennett Plowman '15

Recognizes an alumnus who teaches in an urban or disadvantaged education setting including elementary school, middle school and high school, who exemplifies the "education of the heart" and the values of diversity, equity and inclusion in their teaching. The nominee must have graduated 10 years ago or more and cannot be a current member of the CAVS Leadership Council. Past CAVS Leadership Council members are eligible only if two years have elapsed since they served. 

Young Alumni Award: Treci Butler '18 

Recognizes an alumnus who has continued the Cabrinian legacy of service, made outstanding contributions to their communities, or achieved great career success. The nominee must have graduated between 2014-2024 and cannot be a current or outgoing member of the CAVS Leadership Council. 

Honorary Alumni Award: Kate Corcoran and Larry Stauffer

Recognizes a non-alumnus for exemplary service to Cabrini University.

Mother Ursula Award: Jason Fridge ’25 (St. Joseph’s University) and Samantha Sturkey-DiPadova ’25 (Eastern University)

Recognizes a Cabrini graduating senior who has best fulfilled the ideals of the University through academic achievement, participation in extracurricular activities, leadership and service to fellow classmates and their college/university. In 2025, eligible seniors are those who would have graduated from Cabrini University in December 2024 or May 2025 and have now completed their degree at another college/university.
