Keynote speakers confirmed!

This year, the Art of Coaching Conference will focus on equity and racial justice. In that spirit, we are thrilled to confirm that, in addition to Elena's keynote, we will have special keynote presentations from Kiese Laymon and Dr. Anneliese Singh.

Join us this fall for a transformative learning experience in Asilomar, CA. Located on Rumsen and Ohlone land, these extraordinary grounds nestled between ocean and forest offer a truly unique conference atmosphere unlike any you've seen before.

This conference will provide a healing and restorative learning environment for our participants that focuses on coaching for equity, racial justice, resilience, and building resilient and just communities.

Kiese Laymon, Author and Professor

Kiese Laymon is a Black southern writer from Jackson, Mississippi. In his observant, often hilarious work, Laymon does battle with the personal and the political: race and family, body and shame, poverty and place. His savage humor and clear-eyed perceptiveness have earned him comparisons to Ta-Nehisi Coates, Alice Walker, and Mark Twain.

He is the author of the award-winning memoir Heavy, the groundbreaking essay collection How to Slowly Kill Yourself and Others in America, and the genre-defying novel Long Division.

Anneliese Singh, Author and Professor

Anneliese Singh, PhD, LPC is an award-winning social justice scholar, author, speaker, and community organizer who speaks on a wide variety of racial justice and LGBTQ+ topics. She is a Professor and Associate Dean of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the College of Education at the University of Georgia.

Trained as a counselor and psychologist, she wrote the Racial Healing Handbook to provide practical activities to challenge privilege, address systemic racism, and engage in collective racial healing. Dr. Singh’s workbook, the Queer and Transgender Resilience Workbook, focuses on skills for LGBTQ+ healing, empowerment, and social change.
