From Conflict to Collaboration

Join Family Enterprise Center faculty for an immersive two-day conference on the importance personality dynamics have on family business governance and achieving your multi-generational outcomes.

**To maintain the highly interactive nature of this program, attendance is limited.

The Forum will be a hands-on experience to help you:

  • Understand your personality and the hidden nuances influencing your family dynamics
  • Design a personal action plan that leverages your unique personality differences
  • Explore behavioral patterns within your family and how they influence your family’s ownership goals
  • Unpack best-in-practice governance and how personalities influence it
  • Learn the impact of different personalities on communication and governance
  • Build a multi-generational governance plan for your family and your family enterprise

  • Leave with tangible next steps and an accountability plan

The Forum will be helpful for owners of family enterprises at every stage of growth. Participants will find it useful to bring multiple family members from more than one generation. Non-family executives will also benefit from this program.

Wednesday, October 8, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, followed by 5:30 – 8:30 pm reception and participant dinner

Thursday, October 9, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm

Location: UNC Kenan-Flagler’s Rizzo Conference Center

Hotel Info: Information regarding booking your room at Rizzo Conference Center will be sent following completed registration. You are also welcome to book your stay at the hotel of your choice.

Highlights of this year’s forum include:

  • Individual DiSC personality assessment (included in fees) and group personality workshop using the DiSC model
  • Breakout groups designed to stimulate ideas on how to navigate challenging personality dynamics
  • Family deep-dive into current governance practices and implementation plans for future governance needs 
  • One-on-one follow-up accountability call with (2) faculty members
  • Luncheons on both days designed to promote one-on-one discussion with other families
  • Reception and seated dinner
  • Executive classroom meeting space at UNC Kenan-Flagler’s Rizzo Conference Center
