2024 was the initial offering of the New Jersey Emergency Preparedness Association Higher Education Challenge—an invitation for our up-and-coming emergency managers to present their insights and solutions into the changing climate of emergency management.
We received amazing presentations in 2024 and 2025, we are looking forward to hosting the third annual challenge at our 2026 conference.

NJEPA is proud to have an established Young Professionals Engagement Event which has occured for multiple years. This session is designed for those who are new to Emergency Management or looking to get started in the field. You will have the opportunity to ask industry leaders questions about the field, get career advice, network and learn how Emergency Management integrates every industry in the public and private sector. Program elements will include a panel discussion with veteran Emergency Management professionals, a disaster preparedness scenario discussion, networking opportunities, and a chance to win free attendance at next year's conference.
During this great evening event, join us for the Annual Awards Reception! This reception provides an excellent opportunity to meet with colleagues as we honor current and future emergency managers during our awards program. This event will feature a plated dinner and cash bar. Tickets are required for entry and there will only be a limited quantity available so please remember to sign up when you register..
