Tufts Cove Generating Station Tour

The Tufts Cove Generating Station is a thermal power plant in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, operated by Nova Scotia Power, a subsidiary of Emera Incorporated. Built in 1965, it initially used heavy fuel oil but later transitioned to natural gas, significantly reducing emissions. The facility has a generating capacity of 415 megawatts and features three 152-meter chimneys, among the tallest in Nova Scotia. The plant continues to evolve, with expansions such as a combined-cycle generator in 2011, and it is connected to the Maritimes and Northeast Pipeline for natural gas supply.

The tour will begin with an overview presentation followed by a tour of the facility.
