Entry Tips

  1. READ THE CATEGORIES & CRITERIA. Read the specific criteria and decide which categories you are going to enter. You can download the word doc versions of the application and plan out your responses. The entry process page will tell you who is eligible to apply (based on demographics, role, and organization type), the methodology on what the judges will be looking for as well as the application requirements.

  1. MAKE IT RELEVANT. Make sure your submission fits the description and criteria of the award category. For example, if you are applying for one of the Company Awards, ensure your organization is a technology vendor, solution provider, or distributor that conducts some portion of your business in the U.S. Technology vendors must work with an indirect channel of solution providers such as systems integrators, managed service providers, network integrators, VARs, resellers, agents or consultants to be eligible. Another example, the Ally of the Year award is open to men working to foster gender equality in the channel through sponsorship, advocacy and other actions that build supportive, collaborative work environments and drive systemic change.

  1. INCLUDE SPACING & PUNCTUATION. Please include spacing and punctuation in your responses; do not cut and paste a block of text. If you are attaching a document, please note in the box ‘see attached PDF’. Please don’t paste the whole attachment in as well. It will save the judges a lot of time when reviewing submissions.

  1. MAKE IT PERSONAL. When writing your submission, please keep it concise and take note of any word count limits. Imagine you are telling a story; inject personality and life into the submission and make it interesting to read. Think about what would make your entry stand out and inspire the judges.

  1. FACTS AND FIGURES. Always include relevant facts and figures. If your entry is stating that an individual is the best at something, please provide data to back it up. This will help provide context and show the judges that your entry is genuine.

  1. INCLUDE TESTIMONIALS.  Testimonials can be from your customers, partners, co-workers, etc.  Make sure the testimonials are interesting to read; keep them short and to the point.

  1. LESS IS MORE. If you don’t have the time to spend tailoring your responses for multiple categories, focus on just one and make it a winner! Please don’t submit the same responses for different category awards. The judges will penalize those who submit the same exact entry in multiple categories.

  1. WORD COUNT LIMIT. Some of the questions have a 500-word count maximum, they are noted on the application.
