About the Event

Welcome to the 2025 International Convention Helping Hands information website and registration. Please take a moment to review this website for pertinent information. In July you will receive an email that will prompt you to select your roles and shifts. Please note that registration is limited to the first 160 volunteers who complete their registration. We apologize in advance if the program is sold-out before you have an opportunity to register.

Volunteer Requirements

Please consider the following when determining if the Helping Hands program is a good fit for you:

  • You must be an active member in good standing.

  • You must commit to a minimum of 10 volunteer hours.

  • You are required to attend a volunteer orientation at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown for two hours on Tuesday, August 19 in the early afternoon, which will not count toward your 10 volunteer hours.

  • Volunteering could mean that you will miss your favorite event. For example, you might miss the opportunity to attend the World Championship of Public Speaking®, the convention’s most popular event, which requires a large number of volunteers.

Parking at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown 

  • Valet parking is available at the daily rate of $ 69.50 USD. 

  • Limited Onsite Parking during special events and weekends is available at $83 USD (additional taxes and fees included).

We recommend visiting this website as you will have detailed information on the venue and hotel room block as well as travel details such as transporation opportunities and visa instructions. 

Helping Hands Roles

There are several roles that you can choose from when you select your roles and shifts in July. Every role is equally important, so try not to be disappointed if your preferred role fills up first. Please review the Helping Hands Roles and Responsibilities flyer to better understand what volunteer opportunities are available. We also suggest printing the flyer so you can refer to it when selecting your roles. 

You will be able to select your roles and shifts in July and have a mobile app that will help keep track of your schedule onsite.

Attire

Your official Helping Hands uniform is a custom vest. This vest will be worn over your own business casual attire. Please check the sizing carefully and order the size you will feel most comfortable in. Please order based solely on your measurements. To view the size chart click here.

Helping Hands volunteers will receive their vest at the Helping Hands orientation on Tuesday, August 19. The attire for the Helping Hands orientation is casual attire. For the Opening Ceremonies, you are encouraged to dress in traditional clothing of your home country or in business casual attire. President’s Inauguration and Celebration calls for evening or semi-formal attire. Attendees typically wear dark suits, tuxedos, dresses, gowns or other semi-formal attire. All other convention events are business casual.
