Hints and tips as you plan:

  • Check back frequently. We will add a menu item called "Changes" that will document any changes we make to the agenda items over the next few weeks, possibly up until January 28th!
  • As you plan - identify backups in case you need to put yourself on a waitlist. Registrants are always allowed to switch to a waitlisted trip, even up to the last minute.
  • On the registration pages the trips and presentations are all in time order.

Waitlist info

  • You may put yourself on as many waitlists as you like. We encourage waitlist use!!!!
  • Waitlist policies - If you are registered, you are never penalized for taking a waitlisted trip, even if it is after our cancellation date.
  • We encourage waitlist use for many reasons: 1. You just never know what will happen. 2. We assign vans and some assistant guides after April 4, at that point we may be able to open things up. 3. Waitlists tell us about the popularity of a trip. Even if we can't address it this year, it helps us plan for the next year.
  • If you only wind up signing up for waitlists, we will charge you a registration fee initially. If you do not get any of your trips, please contact us so that we can refund your registration fee.

Signing up with others - Group tips

  • If possible everyone should register themselves.
  • If you are registering as soon as we open on either day, don't waste time making sure everyone got their first choice. Do that after you are all registered.
  • Have one person in the group send an email to the registration team asking us to group you. We can set it up so that you will be able to see each others orders.
  • If there are issues with one person not on a trip, send an email to the registration team about that. We keep a list of people in that situation and use that when we set up transportation in early April. If it is just one person we can usually make it work, if more than one of you are not on, call us at 928-282-2202 and we should consider other options.

There is a registration team of three people. We have individual email addresses, but we all "work" the registrar email address. We all have our own phone numbers, you will find those at the bottom of emails sent after you register. You may want to save them in your phone. Jeri's phone is the number you see on the website, she may forward messages to Shauna or Julia.

  • Jeri Higgins
  • Shauna Thurman
  • Julia Ford

Cancellation Date: April 4 at 11:59pm - any cancellations made after this date are non-refundable. Unless it is for a waitlist. After this date, you may upgrade to a more expensive trip and pay the difference, but if your change is for a lower priced trip, you will not get a refund.

Pet Policy: At the Verde Valley Birding and Nature Fair, we strive to create a safe and welcoming environment for all participants, including our feathered friends and wildlife.

Service Animals Only on Festival Grounds
For the comfort and safety of all attendees and wildlife, we allow service animals only on-site at the festival grounds. Please ensure that your service animal is leashed, harnessed, or otherwise secured as required by law.

No Pets on Field Trips
In consideration of the natural habitat and wildlife, pets are not allowed on any of our field trips or birding excursions. These trips are designed to be a quiet and respectful experience for bird watchers, and we ask for your cooperation in ensuring that all animals remain at home during these activities.

Dead Horse Ranch State Park Policy: Pets must be kept on a leash and may not be left unattended. Please clean up after your pet. Pets are not permitted in park buildings.
