Meet our Featured Artist - Walt Anderson!
Walt Anderson wears many hats as an artist, author, international expedition guide,
photographer, and conservationist. Last September, Walt received the highest award of the
international group, Artists for Conservation, for his “lifelong dedication to conservation, artistic
mastery and sharing of his scientific knowledge.” Professor Emeritus of Environmental Studies
at Prescott College, Walt has led many nature-based and photography expeditions around the world
and is an expert at field identification of birds, mammals, plants, and more. He is co-founder of the
Granite Dells Preservation Foundation, a non-profit, and Save the Dells, a political action committee, and
he is also involved in international conservation work in Africa. His paintings have been an integral part
of his conservation work.
This year's Featured Bird is the Anna's Hummingbird, as shown above in an original watercolor piece by Walt Anderson in 2022.
