LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the Symposium, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify and discuss emerging trends and updated practice guidelines in lead and device management, including lead extraction, surgical pocket management, and the treatment of lead-related endocarditis.
  2. Evaluate and apply advances in pacing and ICD technologies, with a focus on their practical implications in clinical practice.
  3. Interpret and integrate the latest Canadian driving guidelines related to cardiac device patients into patient care strategies.
  4. Engage in case-based learning by reviewing and discussing real-world clinical scenarios with experts, promoting knowledge exchange and practical problem-solving.
  5. Support trainee development by providing opportunities for trainees to present and receive expert feedback on clinical case presentations.

This activity is an accredited group learning activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada; it has been approved by Pédagogia for a maximum of 6 hours in Section 1. Participants should claim a number of hours corresponding to the actual duration of their participation.

For all other professionals, this activity grants a certificate of 6 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) or 6 hours of participation. Participants must claim a number of hours that reflects their actual participation time with their respective regulatory bodies.
