Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest is a free hockey program focused on creating a positive hockey experience for young women at all levels in the sport. Each participant will take part in a half-day experience that includes on-ice skills, off-ice training and player classroom session.

How do I register?

Registration for Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest will be completed online. Links to each individual event registration can be found in the Locations drop down menu above.

How does the lottery registration system work?

To accommodate growing demand for Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest and to ensure all interested players have an equal chance to attend, registration for our 2025 programs will run on a lottery system. Here’s a step-by-step explanation of how the lottery will work:

1. Five to six weeks before each event, online registration for the lottery will open.
2. Four weeks before the event, the lottery registration will close.
3. Within 48 hours of registration closing, participants’ names will be randomly selected to attend Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest and confirmation emails will be sent out. Participants will be grouped into sessions based on their age and experience level in hockey.
4. Participants who are not selected in the first draw will automatically be placed on the waitlist. Should any spaces become available, waitlisted players will be notified by email and have a chance to complete their registration.

What should I do if I haven’t received any emails with updates or confirmations?

If you do not receive any communication emails, please first check your spam folder. If your spam folder is empty, please email girlshockeyfest@scotiabank.com and we would be happy to assist you.

What should I do if my daughter can no longer attend?

If your daughter can no longer attend, please email girlshockeyfest@scotiabank.com so your place may be given to another registrant.

How many participants are accepted into each session?

Participant numbers are dependent upon location, however an average of 50 participants are accepted into each session.

What can we expect from the Learn to Play program?

Learn to Play powered by CCM is an introduction to the basics of hockey – for those with little experience with the sport. For on-ice, our official equipment partner CCM can provide helmet, gloves, skates and a hockey stick for your daughter to use during the event. The goal is to gain exposure and learn the basics of the sport. We will have increased number of team members on-ice to ensure we are there to support all of our participants, therefore parents are not needed on the ice, but are welcome to stay on-site.

Please come prepared with comfortable activewear, towel, water bottle, and running shoes.

Are goalies welcome?
Yes, goalies are welcome! There will be an opportunity to define player position within the registration form.

Are parents required to stay on-site during the event?
All parents are welcome to stay on-site to watch their daughter(s), however this is not necessary. If you wish to leave, please ensure the event waiver has been signed by a parent or guardian prior to departure. Please note that due to space limitations, parents may not be allowed entry to some of the off-ice sessions.

What skill level is accepted?
Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest is an inclusive and welcoming event for girls of all skill levels. Each of our programs are available for both the U7-U11 and U13-U15 sessions. Are food and beverages provided?
