The Doctoral Dissertation Award (DDA) recognizes outstanding doctoral research in supply chain management, with an emphasis on rigor, creativity, and relevance. This award highlights the excellence of emerging scholars whose work addresses significant challenges in supply chains and logistics.

Since its creation in 1973, 45 Ph.D. graduates have been honored. In 2016, the recognition process expanded to include not only an annual winner but also up to two honorable mentions each year. This award continues to serve as a platform to showcase innovative research and to elevate the contributions of early-career scholars within CSCMP’s academic community.

The selection committee is composed of both academic and practitioner members, ensuring that the awarded research is of high quality, relevant, and impactful to both theory and practice. The process includes multiple rounds of blind review and final approval by the CSCMP Board of Directors.
