GENERAL INFORMATION

Congress Registration

Terra 2022 will be a hybrid Congress, with both in-person and virtual attendance options. Please see below for registration information regarding the Congress. Pre-registration for the congress is strongly encouraged. You may register by March 21, 2022 to receive the early bird rate. All attendees and guests must complete an online registration form.

 

Registration for in-person conference includes the following:

  • Access to all available Congress materials and presentations (both in-person and on the virtual Terra 2022 platform) in English and Spanish
  • Opening reception
  • Poster and video sessions
  • Abstract volume
  • Lunches during days of Congress (Tuesday - Friday)
  • Coffee break refreshments during days of Congress (Tuesday - Friday)
  • Congress ephemera

Cost of virtual registration will grant access to the Terra 2022 Virtual Congress platform:

  • Livestreams of keynote and general session presentations
  • Pre-recordings of select oral presentations
  • Digital version of select posters
  • Select videos
  • Virtual networking opportunities

Registration for in-person or virtual conference does not include the following:

  • Travel to/from Congress location (including any air or ground transport)
  • Lodging for duration of Congress
  • Additional cost for half-day site visits that require chartered transportation, to be announced in Spring 2022 for in-person conference attendees
  • Optional Pre-Congress workshops (registration information below)
  • Any meals outside of those specified above
  • Congress Dinner - available at an additional cost to in-person attendees
  • Print version of Terra 2022 World Congress Proceedings (A digital version of the Proceedings will be available as a free downloadable PDF on the Getty website once they are published - tentatively fall 2023)

Please note the following: All citizens of a foreign country who plan to participate in the Terra 2022 World Congress must first obtain a US visa. The congress organizers will provide participants coming from outside the United States with a formal letter of registration to facilitate the visa process upon request. Please contact Melissa G. Rael (melissa@mgr-events.com) to request the letter.

In addition, the congress organizers are prohibited under U.S. law from transacting or dealing with persons who are subject to U.S. financial sanctions. Prospective registrants will be screened and required to certify their eligibility.

 

Pre-Congress Workshops

Pre-Congress Workshops are available for an additional fee on a first come first serve basis. You can register for the two day optional workshops during registration.

Half Day Site Visits – Wednesday, June 8th

Wednesday afternoon, June 8, will be reserved for walking tours and site visits to provide Terra 2022 participants the opportunity to explore Santa Fe and the area nearby with excellent examples of earthen architectural heritage of the region. Both walking tours in town and bus tours to sites in the region will be offered on a first come first served basis.

Tours will be offered on a first come first served basis.

Santa Fe is located just over 7,000 feet (approximately 2,200 meters) above sea level. The sun can be intense, afternoons can be hot, and it is important to stay hydrated. All tours will be easy to moderate in terms of distance and difficulty.

Tours will depart from the Santa Fe Community Convention Center between 1-2pm, and will return between 5-6pm.

Please note that, given the changing circumstances related to the Covid 19 pandemic, tours may be subject to change due to temporary closures of sites. Likewise, if any given tour is not filled, it may be cancelled.  Participants will be notified of any changes ahead of time, and may join another tour or request a refund.

Optional Post Congress Tours – Saturday, June 11th

Optional one-day post-conference tours will be offered to Terra 2022 participants on Saturday, June 11, following the conference. These tours will visit earthen sites in the region around Santa Fe, which demonstrate different approaches to conservation, restoration, and maintenance by communities and conservation professionals in different contexts.

Tours will be offered on a first come first served basis.

Santa Fe is located just over 7,000 feet (approximately 2,200 meters) above sea level. The sun can be intense, afternoons can be hot, and it is important to stay hydrated. All tours will be easy to moderate in terms of distance and difficulty. Trails that may be more difficult are noted in the descriptions below.

Tours will depart from the Santa Fe Community Convention Center at 8:30 am, and will return between 5-6pm. All tour costs include a boxed lunch, water, and snacks.
