►Kentucky Farmland Transition Initiative

Over the past 20 years, Kentucky has seen the loss of 1.4 million acres of farmland and 17,000 farms. In response, Kentucky Farm Bureau is urging the farming community to come together to find solutions to reverse this trend. In April 2024, the Kentucky Farm Bureau launched the Kentucky Farmland in Transition Initiative, aimed at equipping farmers and landowners with the resources they need to preserve more farmland for active agricultural use. This workshop will emphasize the importance of these initiatives, showcasing the strategies and resources available to protect Kentucky's agricultural heritage. Attendees will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and explore practical ways to secure the future of Kentucky agriculture, ensuring that farmland remains a vital part of the state's economy and culture.

►Ag Literacy – Strengthening the Partnership

Agriculture plays a crucial role in meeting our most basic needs and has a significant positive impact on our economy, environment, and society. However, many people—especially students—lack a true understanding or appreciation of its value. This workshop aims to address that gap by introducing a renewed emphasis on agricultural literacy. The workshop will showcase a collaborative effort involving various agricultural industry groups, the Department of Agriculture, and the Governor’s Office. Participants will explore new strategies and resources designed to increase awareness and understanding of agriculture's vital role in our lives, focusing on how to better engage and educate students about this essential industry.

►Gaining Ground Through Success, Innovation & Leadership Development

During this session, we will consider various methods and techniques that are incorporated by successful County Farm Bureau Women’s Programs as they effectively utilize the talents and resources that are available to them. This workshop will allow you to gain valuable insight on how you can build your own unique activities and programs by duplicating the success of others. Additionally, we will highlight a range of leadership opportunities designed to enhance the skills of local volunteers, empowering them to be stronger advocates for the industry. Join us to discover practical techniques and build your own unique programs that will make a lasting impact on Kentucky Agriculture.
