Pre-Institute Workshops

New Superintendents Institute / 10 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.  

  • This session will highlight the superintendent’s role in leading a culturally inclusive and proficient school system and long-range financial planning, including the benefits, analysis and assumptions and how to guide and communicate the budget process.

  • A new superintendents breakfast meeting with State Education Department Leadership will be held on Tuesday morning at the Albany Capital Center.

Early Career Superintendents Institute / 10:15 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

This half-day session will highlight legal updates and hot topics and a discussion on Protecting Student Data, including an overview of the major elements of Education Law 2-d and implications for schools and school boards. 

Cabinet Member Institute / 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.  

Join this jam-packed session to learn about advocacy strategies from The Council’s Advocacy Team; discuss legal hot topics pertinent to cabinet-level leaders and back by popular demand, learn how to work smarter and manage your time, energy and attention
