Our keynote speakers are the leaders of Boston Medical Center’s Healthcare Equity Accelerator, a program recognized by The Joint Commission (TJC) for its innovative approach to diabetes care equity. We are excited to introduce:

Thea L. James, MD, MPH, MBA, the Vice President of Mission & Associate Chief Medical Officer at Boston Medical Center. Her goal is to foster innovative and effective new models of care that are essential for patients and communities to thrive and reach their full health potential.

Elena Mendez-Escobar, PhD, MBA, the Executive Director, Health Equity Accelerator, at Boston Medical Center. Her passion is to right inequities and improve healthcare for underserved populations.

Dr. James and Dr. Mendez-Escobar will provide us with a blueprint on the systems integration and evidence-based strategies they use to close disparity gaps and improve clinical outcomes among their diabetic patient populations.
