Ladies and gentlemen, colleagues and friends,

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the annual Goodwill Connect Conference here in Atlanta, GA. I am honored to welcome so many passionate individuals in one place, all committed to fulfilling Goodwill's mission.

Over the next few days, we will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from each other, and strengthen our support network. I am confident that our time together will not only be productive but also deeply inspiring, sparking new ideas and initiatives.

As we come together to share our experiences and knowledge, let's immerse ourselves in Atlanta's captivating essence. This magnificent city is adorned with breathtaking parks, a flourishing art scene, and a rich tapestry of cultural events, making it a remarkable place to call home. 

Keep an eye out for our unofficial motto: 'Atlanta Influences Everything.' It resonates in every aspect of the city, from the bustling presidential race to the thriving clean tech economy, the pulsating world of rap music, the dynamic startup and Fortune 500 business landscape, the vibrancy of the world's busiest airport, the historic civil rights movement, and the leading educational institutions. Atlanta is undeniably woven into the fabric of these conversations.

People Served. 11,902 people received education, training and job placement through 28 unique programs, including 1,823 people with disabilities, 1,803 people experiencing homelessness, 2,034 at-risk youth, 1,878 people who were formerly incarcerated and 1,976 veterans and their families.

Goodwill of North Georgia's GoodBiz! Program - National Black Business Month Highlight

GOODWILL OF NORTH GEORGIA TOURS

 

Join Goodwill of North Georgia for a behind-the-scenes tour of one of their locations. You will get a firsthand look at their store, career center, support center and/or distribution and ecommerce center operations depending on the location you choose. Please be sure to read the descriptions before choosing your tour location. Tours are capped at 45 attendees each and are first come, first serve.

Day One: Monday, November 12

  • Route One - Distribution Center:  Attendees will have an opportunity to tour the Goodwill of North Georgia Distribution Center and see ecommerce operations, new goods, and as well as retail operations and the sorting process.

  • Route Two - Decatur Location:  Attendees will experience the Goodwill of North Georgia Support Center (headquarters), as well as the Decatur store and career center to see how services are provided to job seekers as well as the salesfloor and backroom operations.

  • Route Three - Buckhead Store: Attendees will experience the Buckhead store where they will see our store guest experience, salesfloor and backroom operations. Note, this is not a co-located site so a career center will not be visited on this tour.

Day Two: Thursday, November 14

  • Route One - Distribution Center:  Attendees will have an opportunity to tour the Goodwill of North Georgia Distribution Center and see ecommerce operations, new goods, and as well as retail operations and the sorting process.

  • Route Two - Metropolitan Parkway Store and Career Center:  Attendees will experience the Goodwill of North Georgia Metropolitan Parkway store and career center to see how services are provided to job seekers as well as the salesfloor and backroom operations.

  • Route Three - Piedmont Store and Donation Center: Attendees will experience the Piedmont store where they will see our store guest experience, salesfloor and backroom operations. Note, this is not a co-located site so a career center will not be visited on this tour.

NOTE: The Thursday, November 14 tours are the last activities of the conference. The tour bus will make a stop at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and is recommended as an option for departures after 6:00 p.m.
