Meet Vera, our 2025 AMBBR Honored Hero!

Vera was diagnosed in July 2022, and while she still takes chemo every single day, she is now a thriving 5-year-old! She just had her first dance recital where she walked on that stage with confidence and a desire to have fun and show-off. She started Kindergarten this fall and is excited to be amongst her peers. She only recently learned that cancer was not a “milestone” every child experience with her questions of “Mommy, what was cancer like for you? Sister is turning 3 this year, what will do when she gets cancer”, and while it has caused some frustration for her. We have continued to celebrate her and empower her that she is the strongest girl in the world to have been given this battle and succeed! Vera got to ring the bell this past October!
