  • Berkeley - Besides the hotels noted above, there are a number of other hotels a quick bus or car ride (or even slightly longer walk) away from campus.

  • Downtown Oakland - Located just 5 miles south of the UC Berkeley campus, Oakland is accessible via the local regional train BART (10 minute train ride from 12th St. Oakland City Center to Downtown Berkeley). One might consider hotels near Jack London Square, Downtown, and/or Uptown. Some of the best food in the Bay Area can be found in these neighborhoods as well.

  • Emeryville - Emeryville is a small neighborhood just west of Berkeley and Oakland, right on the Bay. Just 2.9 miles from the UC Berkeley campus, Emeryville has numerous hotels and restaurants. Public transportation to and from here is more limited, but Uber/Lyft are very common.
  • San Francisco - Located ~12 miles west of Berkeley, across the Bay, San Francisco offers a huge number of hotels and restaurants. Accessible via the local regional train BART (~25 minute train ride from Powell St. or Montgomery Stations to Downtown Berkeley).
