Kentucky Learning Excursion, October 21-24, 2024

TRAVEL LOGISTICS

The Learning Excursion program begins at 6:30 pm on Monday, October 21, with registration at the hotel and a welcome reception and dinner with Kentucky hosts. The program ends at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 24. Please register by Monday, September 9.

NGLC will reserve your room and cover the cost for room, resort fee, and tax for up to 4 nights. If you wish to extend your stay, we will contact the hotel on your behalf for availability. Individuals will need to present a credit card upon check in for incidentals charges, and if applicable, valet parking and any additional hotel room nights. 

NGLC has negotiated a special rate of $169.00 per night plus tax for our attendees for October 21-24, 2024.

Cancellations must be received 24 hours prior to check-in to avoid a charge for one night plus tax.

Griffin Gate Marriott Golf Resort & Spa offers complimentary self parking.

Air Travel

Participants are responsible for making their own travel arrangements to and from the Griffin Gate Marriott Golf Resort & Spa. You may use grant funds issued to your school or district to cover these costs. Please coordinate with your team lead prior to booking travel by air/rail to ensure available funds.

Blue Grass Airport in Lexington (LEX) is 15 minutes, 9 miles from the hotel.  Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) is about 1 hour, 75 miles from the hotel, and Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) is about an hour and a half, 73 miles from the hotel.  See more transportation options on Griffin Gate Marriott Golf Resort & Spa's website.

Ground Transportation

Participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from the Griffin Gate Marriott. NGLC will provide a shuttle bus for the sessions on October 22-23, 2024 to and from the hotel and school sites.

If you choose to rent a car, this will be at your own expense. You may use grant funds issued to your school or district to cover these costs. Please coordinate with your team lead prior to booking a rental car to ensure available funds.

If you are traveling by air, several companies offer ride share services at both Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) and Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF). The average ride share cost is $116 - $122 one way. The average ride share cost from Blue Grass Airport in Lexington is $25-30 one way.

Travel-Related Costs

Attire Suggestions

Suggested attire for the NGLC Learning Excursion is business casual. Please be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring appropriate layers and outerwear as the temperature in the different locations we visit may vary.
