FUNdamentals of Family Medicine

You are invited to join us for this informative, collegial, and practical symposium, designed with your needs in mind. Don’t miss this excellent opportunity to learn, connect, and refresh!

The 2024 Symposium agenda offers:

  • 13 topics for all attendees to gain practical approaches to address common challenges in day-to-day Family Medicine practice
  • Plenary topics: Menopause, Men's Health, Lifestyle Medicine/Gut Health, AI in Family Medicine (including guest faculty from UCSD)
  • Livestreamed topics: Hyponatremia/Hypokalemia, Hair Loss, Anemia/Leukopenia, Liver/Fatty Liver, Obesity, and Integrative Medicine
  • In-person workshops: Cardiology, Joint Injections, Quick and Easy OMT in Busy SCPMG FM Practice

Interactive formats will enhance your learning experience, through case-based polling, facilitated discussions with dynamic expert faculty, and ample time for open Q&A in all livestreamed sessions. In-person workshops will give hands-on practice with techniques and deeper dive into clinical decision-making.

This 1.5 day hybrid live course includes an opportunity to support resident scholarly work during the virtual poster exhibit, and celebrate colleagues recognized as Family Medicine Physicians of the Year. Bonus activities include Refresher session on Healthy Food Healthy Life for virtual attendees during Friday lunchtime, and after Friday's sessions a special Fireside Chat with Chiefs, Resident Social, and other networking opportunities invite you to meet new colleagues, reconnect with friends from other service areas, and return to practice with renewed confidence and inspiration.

An optional ABFM KSA on Pain Management will be available after the symposium, on Saturday afternoon. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet MOC Part 2 requirements in a collegial and fun learning activity.
