Deeper Leading / Learning Session
September 22, 2024 / 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

School leaders in New York State will have the opportunity to embark on a transformative journey over the course of the 2024-25 school year, beginning with the Fall Leadership Summit, to build a Deeper Learning Crew. Deeper Learning is an approach to rethinking schools in a way that meets the demands of the 21st century. Guided by project-based learning (PBL) design principles, participants will craft actionable strategies around school programming rooted in real-world contexts.

Over two immersive face-to-face sessions at Fall and Winter and four virtual meetings, leaders will engage in a multifaceted exploration that creates experiences in schools that maximize the Deeper Learning Competencies, including content expertise, critical thinking and problem solving, collaboration, communication and self-directed learning. This year-long experience will create a network of practitioners who mutually support one another in transforming their school communities through building a culture of inquiry and reflection. The experience culminates with an invitation to the Deeper Learning Conference in Kingston, NY in July 2025.

The first session at the Fall Leadership Summit, educators will study Deeper Learning principles, engage in the Futures Museum, and explore an overview of the arc of the work.

New Superintendents’ Institute

• All new superintendents to the profession or new to the State of New York are encouraged to attend.
• Pre-registration required. Open to first year superintendents only.

Early Superintendents’ Career Institute

Cabinet Institute
Sunday, Sept. 22 / 10:30 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.

Member Tuition $139, Non-Member Tuition $189, includes a coffee break, lunch and all materials. Open to all, preregistration required. Session sponsored by Partner Just Right Reader.

Call for
Proposal

The Call for Proposal Portal to submit a session for the 2024 Fall Leadership Summit is now closed. All proposals will be vetted by our Conference Committee and those that provide a multi-media and/or creative interactive audience participation option will be give higher priority.

There are a limited number of sessions available for both events. Final sessions selected and published Summer 2024 for the Fall Leadership Summit.
