More Information regarding the rescheduling of Leaders Summit 2020
The Leaders Summit live event scheduled for June 2020 has been rescheduled, what happens to my current registration?
If you have registered and submitted a payment for Leaders Summit, if applicable, it will automatically be transferred to next year’s Leaders Summit taking place in June 2021. You don’t need to do anything. If you would like to modify your registration please click here.
What are the new dates? Where will the event be held?
The Leaders Summit will be held in June 2021 at the UN Headquarters and the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The new dates will be posted shortly. Be sure to visit the site for any updates.
If I can’t make the new date, what happens to my registration?
Reach out to LeadersSummit@unglobalcompact.org and we will assist in issuing a full refund or transferring your registration to another colleague. You have until May 14, 2021 to cancel and receive a full refund.
Where can I find more information about next year’s event?
This Leaders Summit website has been updated to reflect all current information about next year’s Leaders Summit. The speakers and agenda are subject to change. When any change is made, we will update the website and attendees accordingly.
I’m a sponsor/exhibitor that was planning on attending. What happens now?

General Information
What is the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit?
The Leaders Summit will convene more than 2,000 of the world’s foremost corporate sustainability leaders to discuss and debate the values of the UN, the future of multilateralism and the role that principles-based business can play in driving progress on the Global Goals.
Through a combination of inspiring plenary sessions, exhibitions, interactive workshops and networking opportunities, the Summit will feature innovative examples of how multistakeholder partnerships are unlocking new business opportunities and capital, while also driving impact on the ground.
For the past 20 years, the UN Global Compact has been building a global movement of sustainable companies and stakeholders to create the world we want. Now, we need the right kind of leader to take this movement to the next level. If you are a corporate sustainability leader, or aspire to be one, we invite you to join us in New York, June 2021.
When and where will the Leaders Summit 2021 take place?
The UN Global Compact Leaders Summit will take place on at the United Nations Headquarters and at The Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, 429 11th Ave, New York, NY 10001. For more information on the venues, please check the venue page under the Get Ready tab.
What is the programme of the Leaders Summit?
The Leaders Summit programme is currently under development. Please check the Agenda tab for the most updated programme. Check back regularly as updates will be finalized over the coming months. Registered participants will also receive regular programme and speaker updates as they become available.
Participation and Fees
What are the costs involved with participating in the Leaders Summit?
The registration rates for the Leaders Summit are distinguished by participant tiers and are listed on the Fees page under the Get Ready tab.
Early-bird rate runs from 1 February 2020 to 31 April 2021.
**Tickets can sell out at any time before this deadline. To get your tickets at the cheapest rate, please do not wait to register. We will not be able to honor early bird pricing after the rates close.
Regular rates will be in effect until registration closes on 1 June 2021. Due to heighten security measure at UN Headquarters, additional participants cannot registered after the cut-off date of 1 June 2021.
Day Two only rates for Jacob Javits are in effect up until the day of the event.
All rates published are in USD. All payments per individual must be made in USD and received prior to the event. If you choose to pay by wire transfer, you will have up to 30 days to finalize payment before your registration is cancelled. We kindly request that your organization cover any transfer fees charged by your financial institution.
Can I get the UN Global Compact Participant price?
If you received an email inviting you to register for the Summit, your registration fee is based on your selected participant tier with the UN Global Compact. If you would like to upgrade your company’s participation with us, please reach out to your Participant Engagement Manager or email ceteam@unglobalcompact.org. To join the UN Global Compact and receive discounted registration rates, click here. We encourage you to finalize payment and will be able to refund you to difference. Please email leaderssummit@unglobalcompact.org to process your refund once you have successfully ungraded your tier or joined for the first time.
Can you give me more information on the additional events?
Additional excursions in the NYC area before Leaders Summit will be available for an additional cost. Please click here to add an excursion onto your Leaders Summit experience. Check the Additional Events page under the Get Ready tab for a full list of additional excursions available. New excursions will be added as they are secured.
What are the criteria for participation in the Leaders Summit?
Representatives from business, civil society, academia, Governments and the UN are invited to participate in the Leaders Summit. To request an invitation, please complete the online form here.
Criteria for UN Global Compact Participant Registration
All Chief Executives and contact persons of active UN Global Compact participant companies will be invited to attend the Leaders Summit.
Criteria for UN Global Compact Signatory Registration
Chief Executives and contact persons of active UN Global Compact signatory companies will be invited to attend the Leaders Summit. If you would like to upgrade your company’s participation with us, please reach out to your Participant Engagement Manger or peteam@unglobalcompact.org.
Criteria for Non-Business Registration
Non-Business includes non-governmental organizations, non-profits, intergovernmental organizations, academia, civil society, local government and city representatives. If you are unclear if your organization will qualify for the non-business rate, please reach out to leaderssummit@unglobalcompact.org.
**non-business registration is reserved for UN Global Compact NGO participants. Due to capacity, we are unable to welcome non-Global Compact NGOs at this time.
Criteria for UN Registration
UN Agencies, Funds and Programmes with a long-standing working relationship with the UN Global Compact will be invited to participate in Leaders Summit 2020. These participants include representatives from the organizations participating in UN Global Compact working groups, initiatives and platforms.
Criteria for Government Registration
Government include only Member State representatives such as permanent representatives, ambassadors and Head of States. The UN Global Compact encourages Governments to actively participate in, promote and support the Leaders Summit.
Criteria for Local Network Registration
The UN Global Compact will invite representatives from Global Compact Local Networks. Complimentary registration applies to one participant per Local Network. Additional attendees are welcome to attend, but will be charged the Non-Business rate. By default, the complimentary registration is designated to each Local Network Representative. To transfer over the complimentary registration to another person from a Local Network Secretariat, please contact the Global Compact Local Network team. Participation criteria for official local network partners of the Summit are seperate.

How can I participate in the Leaders Summit?
Leaders Summit will include inter-generational dialogues surrounding the global goals, sustainability and the private sector’s role. All attendees are invited to join in the conversations, interact with sponsors and companies in attendance along with networking with your peers.
Registration
Do all participants need to register in advance for the Leaders Summit?
Yes, all participants must register and submit payment (if applicable) in full via the online registration system in order to receive access to the UN Headquarters. Photo ID will be required upon arrival and must match the information contained within your online registration profile. Details and instructions for accessing the registration system can be found in your official invitation letter. Please be advised that emails and/or letters to the UN Global Compact cannot be processed and will not be considered a substitute for online registration.
When is the last day to register for Leaders Summit 2021?
In order to gain access to the United Nations Headquarters on 15 June 2020, attendee’s full names must be submitted to UN security officers by 1 June 2021. Unfortunately, after this cut off, there will be no additional passes printed.
If you would like to join us at The Jacob K. Javits Convention Center on 16 June and have not completed your registration, please come to the registration desk in the Jacob Javits Center near Hall 1A with your invitation and payment and we will be able to process your registration.
Registration will sell out. Please secure your tickets early and at the best rates.
How do I know if my registration is confirmed for Leaders Summit 2020?
Registrants will receive an automatic confirmation email once registration is finalized. For participants whose registration requires a fee, registration will be confirmed only after payment has been received.
Individuals who complete registration, and click on invoice but do not submit payment, will receive an additional email notifying them of their pending payment status, including instructions on how to submit payment to finalize registration. Pay must be submitted within 30 business days of completing your registration. For assistance, please contact leaderssummit@unglobalcompact.org.
Please note that registration and payment is required to attend the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit. Failure to complete payment within 30 days will result in an automatic cancellation of your registration. As the events have capacity limitations, we recommend that all attendees complete their registration and payment as early as possible.

What is the cancellation policy for the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit?
Cancellation requests must be submitted to leaderssummit@unglobalcompact.org on or before 15 May. We understand that some companies have instituted general corporate travel bans for staff. In response, the 10% administration cancellation fee will be waived for anyone who must cancel before May 15, 2021.
Refunds cannot be processed after 15 May 2021.
Liability
In the case of Government intervention or regulation, armed conflict, strikes or any other circumstances that make it inadvisable or impossible for the United Nations Global Compact Leaders Summit to take place at the time and location announced, the participant shall waive any claim for damage or compensation except the amount paid for registration after the deduction of actual expenses incurred with Leaders Summit, and there shall be no future liability for either party.
Attendance
What will be the language of the Leaders Summit?
All sessions at Leaders Summit will be conducted in English at this moment. Please check back in case translation services are included at a later date.
Can an interpreter accompany me to the event?
Yes. Please coordinate with the Strategic Events Team by emailing leaderssummit@unglobalcompact.org.
How many representatives from my organization can attend the Leaders Summit?
We are happy to accommodate additional representatives on the second day, at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
Due to the high level nature and capacity limitations of the General Assembly Hall, we are only able to accommodate two high-level representatives from businesses and one high-level representative from non-business on Day 1.

How can I find out who attended the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit?
The UN Global Compact Leaders Summit serves as a platform for different stakeholders from business such as Chief Executives and corporate sustainability experts from UN Global Compact Companies, as well as Government officials, the UN and civil society. The full attendee list will be published on the event website here in the weeks following the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit.
Can I attend the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit as a media representative?
All media representatives will need to register by emailing media@unglobalcompact.org. Additionally, all media representatives must be accredited through MALU for Day 1 at UN Headquarters.

Are there speaking opportunities for me?
The UN Global Compact Leaders Summit is designed to help participants communicate ideas and opportunities related to the Global Goals and will be a highly interactive event. As a result, there are a limited number of formal speaking opportunities at the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit 2021.
Candidates for speaking roles will be contacted directly by the event organizers, and no nominations will be accepted.
I will be coming from outside the United States. Can the UN Global Compact assist me with the visa process?
For those participants who require a visa to attend the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit, the UN Global Compact will assist with the process by providing a letter of support after your registration and payment is processed. Please note that the ultimate responsibility for securing the appropriate visa lies with each participant. The UN Global Compact is not responsible for the successful or unsuccessful procurement of visas by international participants.
During online registration, participants may indicate that they require a visa to travel to the United States. Participants who complete registration and pay in full will then receive a letter of support from the UN Global Compact via email, which can then be submitted along with other documentation when applying for a visa. Participants should refer to their local consulate for detailed information.
Please note that the UN Global Compact has the right to decline a letter of support in specific cases.
Can the UN Global Compact assist with the cost of my trip to New York?
The Summit relies on registration fees and sponsorships from participants in order to cover the cost of the event. Unfortunately, there is no available budget to fund participant expenses or cover registration fees. All transportation and lodging expenses are the responsibility of each participant.
Accommodations
Am I responsible for my own accommodations?
Yes, all Summit participants are kindly asked to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements as soon as possible once their registration is confirmed.
What hotels do you suggest?
The UN Global Compact has secured a number of limited hotel rooms at the Millennium Hilton Hotel and the Four Points by Sheraton Manhattan Midtown West for participants.
