Howdy, Goodwill family!
And welcome to Fort Worth, Texas! On behalf of Goodwill North Central Texas, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our city “where the West begins” as we “Build Bridges Together.” Fort Worth, with its rich history, diverse culture and iconic landmarks, provides the perfect backdrop for our gathering.
The City of Fort Worth holds a special place in the heart of Texans and visitors alike, boasting attractions such as the renowned Fort Worth Zoo, the historic Fort Worth Stockyards, the vibrant Sundance Square and the Cultural District. Our city is also home to the Grandmother of Juneteenth, Dr. Opal Lee, who you will get to meet as our Keynote Speaker. We encourage you to explore the treasures of Fort Worth and immerse yourselves in the unique charm of our remarkable city.
Our venue is situated in the heart of downtown Fort Worth and offers unparalleled hospitality and amenities that are sure to enhance your experience during Delegate Assembly. From world-class accommodations to breathtaking views of the city skyline, the hotel sets the stage for productive discussions and meaningful connections.
In true Texas fashion, we have arranged a fantastic night out on Monday at Billy Bob's Texas, the world's largest Honky Tonk, where you can kick up your heels, enjoy authentic Texas fare, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere of live music and camaraderie.
Furthermore, we are delighted to showcase our bath bomb line, Edgars Bath Goods, with a special pop-up shop for attendees to indulge in our luxurious products proudly made by our Goodwill S.T.A.R.S. Participants.
As we gather to discuss and collaborate on ways to advance our mission of empowering individuals through the power of work, let us embrace the spirit of unity and collaboration. Together, we can build bridges that create opportunities, foster inclusivity and drive positive change in our communities.
I look forward to meeting each of you and engaging in inspiring conversations that will propel us forward on our shared journey.
Warm regards,
David Cox, President and CEO
Goodwill North Central Texas
For more than 70 years, Goodwill North Central Texas has relentlessly focused on a single goal:
Transforming lives of dependence into those of independence through the power of work.
Goodwill North Central Texas was the 100th Goodwill founded in the movement in 1949, and it will be 75 years old this October.
Our Goodwill serves 18 counties with 26 stores and 14 attended donation centers in 21 cities across North Central Texas.
We have 28 unique programs and services allowing us to turn lives of dependence to lives of independence, including programs like Goodwill Works, a program for individuals who are homeless to gain job training and employment assistance, to E-Squared, a program for at-risk youth to get their high school education and
work at the same time.
We operate two S.T.A.R.S. Facilities. S.T.A.R.S. stands for Skills Training Achieves Results and is a unique day-habilitation program for adults with multiple or significant disabilities. Our participants have the opportunity to work in Edgar’s Bath Goods, a factory that produces a line of luxury bath products.
