Headache Patients. Facial Asymmetry. Not a Problem of Age.

Headaches are one of the most common diagnosis of cranial facial pain patients and sleep disordered breathing patients. Physical therapists have been working with headache patients traditionally and offer a unique approach due to their knowledge of how the cervical spine connects to the occlusion and their awareness of biomechanics of the joints of the body, including overall spinal posture. A multidisciplinary team, including physical therapist is critical to form as they work with a body with hands-on manual techniques that change tissue tension, joint mobility, and and can stabilize core strength. Physical therapists are the functional therapists of the body that can help the medical and dental field grow in understanding of the muscular skeletal system. Facial symmetry Is common in adults and children as it is not a problem of age.

Dr. Mariano Rocabado, PT, DPT, ccTT is a doctor of physical therapy and director of the Rocabado Institute, former dean of the faculty of rehabilitation sciences at the University of Andres Bello, Santiago, Chile. In the academic field, he is a full professor at the University of Chile, Department of orthodontics, and full professor at the School of Physical Therapy, University of Andres Bello. He is also a full Professor at the Orthopaedic Manual Therapy Masters program, and the Masters Program in Physiopathology of the Craniocervical, Craniomandibular and Facial Pain Program, University of Andres Bello. Dr. Rocabado is one the world's leading experts on craniofacial rehabilitation and teaches to dentists and physical therapists globally the concepts of Cranio-cervical and Cranio-mandibular effects on occlusion and the rest of the body.

"Leaky Syndrome"- What Is It and How Do You Stop It?

This very enlightening session will introduce a new description of the WHY behind much systemic inflammation and many chronically deteriorating conditions so common in our western world. The term, "Leaky Gut" is familiar to all of us, but few can explain exactly what it means or how it happens. In this session you will learn more about leaky gut, and how it illustrates a common problem seen in other parts of the body. You will better understand leaky airway, leaky gums, leaky arteries, leaky brain, leaky kidneys & liver, as we explore deeper into the human systems, seeking better answers to both WHY and HOW to address prevention and intervention for our patients.

Advancements in A Functional Approach to Tongue-Tie, Myofunctional, and Tongue Space Issues: Insights from 7 Years of Clinical Research and Practice.

We invite healthcare providers to engage with the significant developments and discuss the continued evolution of our functional approach to tongue-tie, nasal breathing, oral posture, and tongue space paradigm. Marked by milestones grounded in clinical research, provider education, public awareness, and public health advocacy, together we will reflect on the collective progress made and consider the future directions as we strive to enhance patient outcomes through a comprehensive, functional approach to health. This presentation will empower healthcare providers from different disciplines to recognize and celebrate the progress we have made as field in recognizing the limitation of modern “medicine” towards a functional approach through root-cause analysis in an integrated, functional approach to health and wellness.

Dr. Soroush Zaghi graduated from Harvard Medical School, completed residency in ENT (OtolaryngologyHead and Neck Surgery) at UCLA, and Sleep Surgery Fellowship at Stanford University. He now serves as medical director of The Breathe Institute where the focus of his sub-specialty training is on the comprehensive treatment of nasal obstruction, mouth breathing, snoring, and obstructive sleep apnea in children and adults. He is very active in clinical research with over 90+ peer-reviewed research publications in the fields of neuroscience, head and neck surgery, myofunctional therapy, and sleep-disordered breathing. He is an invited lecturer, author, and journal reviewer for topics relating to the diagnosis and management of sleep-disordered breathing and tongue-tie disorders in children and adults.
