Dwight Akerman, OD, MBA, FAAO, FIACLE, FBCLA

Dr. Dwight Akerman is the founding Chief Medical Editor of Review of Myopia Management. Dr. Akerman graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry with an O.D. degree and earned an M.B.A. from the University of Texas. He has achieved Diplomate status in the American Academy of Optometry Section on Cornea, Contact Lenses & Refractive Technologies, Fellow of the International Association of Contact Lens Educators, and Fellow of the British Contact Lens Association. He was the Vice President & Global Head of Professional Affairs & Business Development for Alcon before retiring from this role in 2019. Dr. Akerman is the immediate past Chairman of the Illinois College of Optometry Board of Trustees.

Sheila Morrison, OD, MS, FAAO, FSLS

Sheila Morrison, OD, MS, FAAO, FSLS, is an optometrist at Mission Eye Care Centre for Dry Eye and Corneal Disease and co-founded the Myopia Academy in Calgary. She previously served on the faculty at the University of Houston College of Optometry as a clinical instructor for the myopia control clinic and as chief of the Contact Lens and Cornea clinic at the University Eye Institute.

Erin S. Tomiyama, OD, PhD, FAAO

Dr. Erin Tomiyama is an Assistant Professor of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University. She is a Southern California native and completed her undergraduate degree at UCLA. She then received her OD degree from the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University. Dr. Tomiyama moved to Houston, TX, to complete a Cornea and Contact Lens Residency at the University of Houston College of Optometry. During residency, she was introduced to clinical research and decided to pursue an MS, then a PhD in Physiological Optics. In her current role, Dr. Tomiyama teaches in the Contact Lens curriculum and serves as a clinical attending in the Stein Family Cornea & Contact Lens Center. She has developed a passion for myopia management and recently established the Myopia Management Service at the university. Her research areas of interest are myopia, optics, contact lenses, and astigmatic corrections. Dr. Tomiyama is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a two-time Ezell Fellowship recipient. 

Sherman Tung, OD, FAAO, FIAOMC

Dr. Sherman Tung graduated from Illinois College of Optometry and is based in Vancouver at Eyelab, a unique and creative OD practice leading in the specialty fields of Myopia Management, Vision Therapy, and Dry Eyes.  His passion and dedication to myopia management led him to pursue a fellowship in the FAAO and FIAOMC. Recently, he just earned his IACMM. He was honored to be named BC Optometrist of the Year in 2019, the highest award given to an optometrist who has contributed to the advancement of optometry and demonstrated a fervent commitment to serving the community and improving the visual welfare of the public.
